Biography

Armed with big choruses, blazing guitar solos, and powerful melodies, WILDSTREET is a sex-fueled rock n roll explosion beckoning the glory days of 80s arena rock. Two years after their debut EP release by Las Vegas based indie label, Retrospect Records, WILDSTREET has done four extensive tours and geared up for their much anticipated new EP. Editorial Reviews

HOLY SMOKES! ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASES OF THE YEAR FROM RETROSPECT RECORDS IS HERE! WILDSTREET ARE A YOUNG UP N COMING BAND FROM NEW YORK THAT SHOULD BE THE 'NEXT BIG THING' HERE IN AMERICA AND AROUND THE WORLD. ONE OF RETROSPECT'S FIRST 'NEW' BANDS IS AN ABSOLUTE WINNER. WILDSTREET IS , IN MY OPINION , THE SECOND COMING OF DEF LEPPARD. UNBELIEVABLY THESE GUYS PRODUCED THIS CD THEMSELVES BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE A MUTT LANGE PRODUCTION!! WITH THEIR COMBINATION OF BIG ARENA-STYLE ANTHEMS , HUGE BACKING VOCALS , GREAT GUITAR WORK AND A REAL ROCK N ROLL IMAGE , WILDSTREET IS A FANTASTIC DEBUT OF GLAM meets MELODIC HARD ROCK THAT SHOULD REACH MANY TOP TEN LISTS OF 2009. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF DEF LEPPARD'S Pyromania AND Hysteria ALBUMS OR QUALITY 80s-STYLE MELODIC ROCK IN GENERAL THEN YOU NEED TO CHECK OUT WILDSTREET. THESE GUYS WILL MAKE THEIR DEBUT FESTIVAL PERFORMANCE AT THE COVETED ROCKLAHOMA FESTIVAL IN JULY. EXPECT TO HEAR MUCH MORE FROM THIS BAND IN THE FUTURE. VERY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

First things first, the songs on this album are killer. There really is'nt a bad song in the bunch, however, with only 7 actual songs, this brings the rating down a notch. Truth be told, there are 9 tracks on the disc, but one is an instrumental, and another is an acoustic version of Soldier Of Love. This does make the price a little steep, but the seven other songs are all great.

This band owes alot to Def Leppard, they almost seem like clones they're that good. I can't help but think, these guys are what should be on MTV, not the stuff that's blasted 24/7, but we all know that will never happen. Wildstreet should write, record, and release a whole album of like 11 or 12 songs to get their music out there more readily. I read they're currently recording a follow-up, if that's true or not, I don't know.

If you are like me, and you love hard rock from the 80's and early 90's, I would reccommend this band highly. The one sticking point, like I mentioned earlier was that the record is a little pricey, but if paying 16 $ for 8 songs does'nt bother you, have at it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Def Leppard fans: Wildstreet is right down your alley!, May 16, 2009
This review is from: Wildstreet (Audio CD)
If the recent releases from Def Leppard have left you high n' dry, then here's the band for you. Wildstreet is loaded with layers of huge, backing vocals and that big arena-rock thunder of Def Leppard's best work. "Wanna Get It On" is a late 80s in-your-face, foot-stomper with big "hey!!" gang vocals that remind me of Winger's "Can't Get Enuff", Y&T's "Contagious" etc. With more "Whoa-oas" than a Keanu Reeves movie marathon, the huge production is what seals the deal here. Wildstreet is definitely one of the hard rock highlights of 2009... no fan of second album Baton Rouge, XL, Loud & Clear, BB Steal, Loudlion and, yes, DEF LEPPARD, should miss this killer Retrospect release!
