We got this book from the library because my 4 year old picked it and I allowed it because it looked like fun. Then I started reading it and... Surprise! No fun at all, unless you consider disrespect, guns and hummers fun. I am writing a note to the librarian of our school to reconsider having this book available for the students (elementary school). Oh, yes! My daughters...

WILEY & GRAMPA'S CREATURE FEATURES: JURASSIC GRAMPA is a hilarious read that will no doubt be enjoyed by anyone, no matter their age!

When Wiley and Grampa stumble upon some fossilized dino dookie, they can't imagine the chaos that's about to take place. On their way out of the cave with their new prize, they are held up by a nefarious duo. It doesn't take long after that for things to start happening. Suddenly all the Gingham County critters who are eating pet treats are transforming into an ancient version of themselves. Can Wiley and Grampa save the day?

This is the first WILEY & GRAMPA book I've read, but it definitely won't be the last. Filled with hilarious scenes and fun illustrations to accompany the story, this is a really great children's read, that boys especially would enjoy. I loved the various character names, especially the evil duo. And the scenes while short, keep the book moving at a really great pace. My favorite bit was when Wiley, Grampa and co. are on the run from the suddenly ancient animals all around them and are saved by a group of unusual four year olds on bikes.

You can visit the official website of the series at: http://www.wileyandgrampa.com/

5.0 out of 5 stars Wiley & Grampa Rock!, January 13, 2009
My son has been reading these books for over a year now, and we are always excited for the next one to come out. They are a lot of fun to read over and over because there is always something you missed the first time. Hilarious!!

5.0 out of 5 stars HILARIOUS and fun! We LOVE these books!!!, November 6, 2010
Finding books for my reluctant reader (8yo son) has been difficult. As an avid reader myself, I have pulled my hair out trying to spark his interest in reading. We stumbled upon these books and soon discovered my son LOVES them! I had a tear of joy in my eye when I peeked into his room late one night and found him READING when he should have been sleeping. YES!!!! For any other parents who are searching for the same, these books are hilarious and fun. There are funny illustrations throughout the book (my son really enjoys these!) that helped with the intimidation factor of "too many words on a page." The only other books we have found that my son has truly enjoyed are the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books and the Roscoe Riley series. (Note: The Roscoe Riley series are a lower reading level, but my son liked how quickly he could read an entire book, and the material held his interest so I was fine with it.) I hope Kirk Scroggs is busy writing MORE Grampa and Wiley adventures.... we LOVE them!
