There should be a six star rating for books like this! I can't believe how everything I ever look for is always there! The best spent money I have ever used for a book! Para los que hablan español, tengo este mensaje: comprenlo ya!

I am back here at the Amazon.com site to buy a third copy of this dictionary! I keep having to get more copies as my colleagues at the translation firm I work at keep taking it for days at a time. The reason for this is quite simple. If you need a term in English or Spanish in business and related areas, this is where you need to look if you want to find it fast and accurate! So complete and easy to use!

I have worked with international markets for over 20 years and until I found this book I often fumbled for the right terminology in any given business situation. Now I save significant amounts of time on a daily basis by having the correct terms in both English and Spanish right at my fingertips. Every time I have had to look up a word in either language it has been there. The equivalents are totally accurate and up to the minute. I give it a perfect score in every category!

I have used this dictionary for about two years now, and was browsing through the bilingual dictionaries Amazon.com sells, and came across it. I figured I'd write a nice review telling about how useful it has been to me. But, I see a long list of reviews, so I have to see if I can add something.

It is a snap to use, with its easy-on-the-eyes layout, and especially since it puts not just words, but also phrases. This is important because 90% of the time you encounter phrases, and being able to know the complete and exact translations makes all the difference.

Besides that, I like finding everything I ever try to look up, but I think that's already been said. I most emphatically and positively recommend this dictionary!

I make about three business trips to Central and South America each month, and while flying I review the contracts and other documents that will be pertinent to my travel. I usually have only my two carry-ons, so space is at a premium when I pack. My notebook computer carrying case has just enough room for the papers I need and this dictionary. All three are equally important to me. My computer and documents for obvious reasons, and this dictionary because I can truly and conceptually understand all the Spanish language business terms I encounter. Not only do I save time by finding what I need in a single book, but I also make better use of my meetings by being fully familiar with the terminology of whatever is being dealt with, whether it is in English or Spanish. Think of it this way, if I am already very busy and have taken the time to tell you this, it's good advice!

I am a business translator, and have used this book for many years now, and have been very pleased. It is now dated, and happily Wiley has published Webster's New World English-Spanish/Spanish-English Business Dictionary. It has a 2006 publication date insuring that it has all the current terms. Buy that dictionary, and do not buy this one. It has a publication date of 1996.

I took this book to assist me with an economic research project that I was conducting in Ecuador on Dollarization. My command of the Spanish language is pretty good, but I have difficultly translating certain advanced economic terms in Spanish. I found that this book did little to assist me in that endevour. Many of the words that I found in this dictionary were definitions that could be easily translated with a regular dictionary such as "indicador de mercado" --> "market indicator". For someone who has no knowledge of Spanish, this translation would be useful if they were trying to read a finance section of a Spanish newspaper. But for someone with a reasonable command of the language, this translation can easily be constructed using a regular dictionary. I found that when I encountered words that were more difficult to translate into English such as "cartera vencida", the word was absent. A translation from a regular dictionary over this term would yield "defeated portfolio" which can be guessed intuitively but doesn't make a lot of sense and thus could be translated better. Other words which were also absent and had no concievable translation in English were Desagio, Captacion, Desencaje among a few others. To give the book some credit, it did translate dacion, reporto, sobregiro, and estocastico, which I could not find in the regular dictionary. But overall, I thought this book was lacking in its ability to define several economic terms that I was expecting it to contain. In a future edition, I would recommend that the author investigate economic papers written in Spanish to seek out some of the more difficult terms that lie in the Spanish economic vocabulary.

I have had this dictionary for three years now, and time after time it has what I need to find. Since I bought it, a couple other business dictionaries have been published, and I have also bought them to be sure to have all the available resources. I have had to send the other dictionaries back, as the selection of terms they offer includes all sorts of general terms which I can already find in my regular bilingual dictionary (and online at wordreference.com), and few of the real-life business terms that you encounter on a day to day basis.

This dictionary has over 40,000 terms, all useful, all precisely handled, and the format is easy to read and comprehend. If you need to have a bilingual business dictionary, then you must get this one. If you want more than one, then get this one first, then see if any other measures up to it! You will see it is Way way way above the rest!

This book is full of words I couldn't find anywhere else. Helps me tremendously with accounting terms. I'd be lost with out it.
