A Cookbook that inspires the whole family,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Kid's Cookbook: A Great Book for Kids Who Love to Cook! (Hardcover)
My daughter is 12 years old and loves to cook. I have found that the recipes in The Kid's Cookbook are fun as well as recipes that the whole family can enjoy.Even though my daughter is 12, I would reccommend this book for younger kids as well. The recipes are very clear and the photography & graphics are bright and exciting. From the Banana Pancakes to the Country Coated Chicked Breasts to our ultimate favorite The Homemade Icecream Sandwiches there is something for every one. It is certainly a great gift for any boy or girl who loves to cook.

For Every Kid, Parent, and Grandparent You Know,

This review is from: The Kid's Cookbook: A Great Book for Kids Who Love to Cook! (Hardcover)
I've given this book to just about every kid, parent, and grandparent in my life, all to rave reviews. My niece hoards it from her brother. One friend's son cooks dinner for the family once a week from this book. Another friend asks her grand-daughter to choose a recipe or two from the book and they spend a Saturday afternoon centering a cooking lesson around the skills learned therein. The book strikes just the right tone: friendly without being cutesy, snappy without being silly. It's a marvelous idea beautifully executed, and a great gift. Abigail Johnson Dodge hit a home run with this one.

Excellent Cookbook for Kids!,

This cookbook for the younger reader is wonderful. This book is easy to understand, filled with many pictures, that not only gives recipes, but also teaches various cooking techniques. Williams Sonoma has a wonderful way of creating cookbooks for the younger people that have not only creative recipes, but recipes for foods that we eat every day. I highly recommend this cookbook for your young novice cook!

Outstanding children's cookbook with excellent recipes,

This review is from: Wiliams-Sonoma The Kid's Cookbook: A great book for kids who love to cook (Williams-Sonoma Lifestyles) (Hardcover-spiral)
This is a fabulous cookbook full of recipes for meals the whole family will enjoy. It's not like many kids' cookbooks that only have pigs in a blanket, pizza, etc. The directions are easy to follow, and it's great for kids as well as adults who want to make simple meals. I bought it for my 10-year-old son (it was his favorite birthday gift), and my 36-year-old niece wanted one, too!

This is a really great book! Everyone will like all of the recipies. Amazon says that The Kids Cookbook is for ages 4-8, but people of all ages like it. If you have a kid who is picky about food, this book is where you can find recipies that he will like.

This cookbook has easy to follow instructions, complete with lists of ingredients and utensils necessary to make the recipe. The end product is terrific!! Although the recipes are a little rich, you can always adapt the recipes to your needs! If you are looking for a cookbook for a kid, you need this book!

I bought this cookbook for a close girlfriend of mine who has a couple of little girls who love to cook just like their mommy. This book is so easy for children to follow and almost every recipe has a picture for them. The recipes are something we all eat everyday and they are all healthy! I recommend giving this as a gift to any child in your life.

One great kid's cookbook! It has just enough details and is explained clearly. This cookbook tells kids what cookware you will need to make each recipe. This book is definately #1 on my list and I'm sure it will become one on yours as well!

Good recipes - but very inefficient.,

This review is from: Wiliams-Sonoma The Kid's Cookbook: A great book for kids who love to cook (Williams-Sonoma Lifestyles) (Hardcover-spiral)
Children love to follow instructions, step by step, and this book has an over abundance of unnecessary and inefficient steps that can make a simple recipe that would normally take 20 minutes to prep, drag on for hours. Any adult, who cooks like this doesn't cook often, cooks professionally or spends most of their waking hours in a kitchen.
For example, who in a modern home kitchen cuts a stick of butter, melts it in a pan then pours it into a (plastic, microwave safe) mixing bowl? Great, now there's a pan, a knife and a cutting board to wash! It is a children's cookbook, so why not cut down on time spent with knives, stovetop flames and inevitable messes by just melting the uncut butter in the plastic mixing bowl with the microwave? Nice pictures, large font, recipes are great, but (in my opinion) obviously written by someone working in a fully staffed professional kitchen, not a home.

My kids just loved this cookbook! We had so much fun this weekend trying out all of the recipes. The recipes aren't too challenging for young kids and it's written so that kids can have fun while they're cooking. My thanks to the author for a great book!
