Even if you are too young to remember the old To Tell the Truth television show, you will appreciate how you can use it in the classroom today. Will the REAL American Author Please Stand Up? contains four read-aloud plays based on the game show.
In each play, three student actors pretend to be a famous person from history, but only one actor is telling the entire truth. The other characters ask questions to determine which one that is. Each play includes 12-14 characters and takes about 15 minutes to read. Each play also includes discussion questions, research topics, fascinating historical "tidbits" and ideas to explore in writing.
