5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!
The DVD isn't out yet, so I don't know what that will be like, but the program itself is hysterical. I think I've watched it on HBO 6 or 7 times and it still cracks me up. Even a bare bones DVD with no extras would be well worth getting, so there is really nowhere to go but up.

3.0 out of 5 stars At times funny, at times awkward
I had mixed feelings about this movie.

First of all, this isn't really a movie. It's a standup comedy routine. It's Will Ferrell's monologue about the Bush administration.

The routine itself has some funny parts, and has some awkward moments. The first half was somewhat odd and juvenile, more like Old School than political satire. At one point...

5.0 out of 5 stars "Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush" IS HILARIOUS!!!, April 10, 2009
This review is from: Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush (DVD)
Reading a couple of bad reviews on this performance, "Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush", has me baffled. Most folks in this world love most of Will Ferrell's hilarious wit and comedy range. Obviously these other negative reviewers don't have witty & intelligent senses of humor. Even if you don't follow politics, and whatever party you're in or not in if you do, this is HILARIOUS from beginning to end! Just like going to see a live play, they take quick entermissions to change set pieces and "W"s wardrobe. It is injected with adult content & language as Ferrell nails "W" perfectly. He tells farcical little "W" life details & stories that will have you crying with laughter! I watched this like 6 times when I had HBO. Ignore any bad reviews on here, those folks are retarded. You must at least rent this when it comes out, you won't be disappointed! It's another masterpiece from Will Ferrell and a classic goodbye to the historical goof that is George W. Bush!

Depending on your tolerance for pain, mind numbing arrogance and stupidity, you might not want to see another minute of George Bush, but with Will Ferrell starring in this final hour as Bushy, you might change your mind.

With all the pain and suffering we endured during Bush's 8 years, we deserve saying good bye with a smile. Enjoy!

If you love Will Ferrell and/or are not a fan of George Bush -- this is about as good as it gets! HILARIOUS!!!!! Also a little different since this is Will Ferrell doing live theater instead of a movie. A couple skits are a little weird and not as funny, but as a whole I absolutely recommend this! Me and my boyfriend laughed our asses off and then I got this for my brother as a Xmas gift and he said the same.

5.0 out of 5 stars Even the Supreme Court can't stop Will Ferrell, January 11, 2010
This review is from: Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush (DVD)
I didn't know Will Ferrell was such a good mimic, but his take on George W. Bush in YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA: A FINAL NIGHT WITH GEORGE W. BUSH is better than any I've seen. YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA, Ferrell's 2009 one-man Cort Theatre, New York City, show, is preserved here on D.V.D..

If YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA, has a fault, it's what you're expecting from Will Ferrell, one of the funniest people in the world, lampooning the single most-deserving object of ridicule, George W. Bush, is too much for a show running just 90 minutes. To do justice to Bush's legacy of injustice, the Cort Theatre would have to make YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA into a festival, adding three more stages and having Eddie Murphy, Dana Carvey, and Frank Caliendo impersonate Bush while Ferrell works the fourth stage.

But on its own terms, YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA is very funny. Also, besides his George W. Bush impression being dead-on, in the final words of the show Will Ferrell gets to the heart of the second-rate second choice of everyone from his father to the voting public, this Fredo Corleone-turned-United States president.

As badly as you did not want the Supreme Court to install George W. Bush in the White House, you will want to see YOU'RE WELCOME, AMERICA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Satire at it's best, August 20, 2009
This review is from: Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush (DVD)
This is a great show, Will Ferrell crushes any thoughts that this is an overblown SNL skit. The show is magnificent and delivers on every level. I felt like I was in the audience. I googled the directors name and he's done a ton of other HBO stuff and he's got a pretty cool website where he actually responds to questions like technical stuff and stuff about the artists [...] back to Will, it's pretty much a one man show and I was blown away.

I'm normally not a huge fan of Will Ferrell. I enjoy his movies, but always thought he was just really good at being silly. However, this show is a masterpiece. I couldn't stop laughing. I wish I could see it on Broadway before it ends the run.

4.0 out of 5 stars George W, January 6, 2012
This review is from: Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush (DVD)
This was a very funny stand up routine, in which Will Farrell imitates President Bush. I recommend this to anyone who appreciates Will's humor and Pres. Bush.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brings Back Memories - This Time It's Funny!, January 19, 2011
This review is from: Will Ferrell: You're Welcome, America. A Final Night with George W. Bush (DVD)
Ferrell does an excellent job imitating former President Bush, and doesn't pull any punches doing it. On the other hand, he doesn't beat various issues into the ground. A nice, entertaining summary of 8 not so entertaining years.
