Incredibly disappointing!!!,
By EurovisionGS (Providence, RI USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
Another issue that has not been mentioned is that last few seasons were broadcast in WIDESCREEN, and the season sets or the complete series only have the full screen version. Why Lionsgate, why? Getting only the syndicated versions with severe cuts, the lack of the additional West Coast live episodes and these picture format changes are cheating us out of the truly complete DVD experience.
The UK version of the Complete Series set (available from Amazon UK for quite some time) had additional scenes or lines of dialogue deleted because it was marketed for getting the Age 15 and upward rating... it looks like the only decent version of these season sets as well as the complete series (real broadcast episodes, widescreen format for the last seasons) are available in Europe (particularly in Holland/Belgium) and Australia (with Region 2 and 4 encoding). I ordered my complete series for about the same price as the US complete set from an Australian retailer.

Re-Release Please !!!,
By Aurélien T. "Aurélien T." (Paris, France) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
At this point, I think there should just be a re-release of the complete box-set :
- With WIDESCREEN versions when shot in WIDESCREEN - With the COMPLETE episodes. Just for the sake of freedom of expression and artistic integrity.

Production Problems!!!,
By JohnnyBoy (Oceanside) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
I would recommend NOT buying this set from anywhere, because my original purchase had multiple discs issues of not even loading the material at all. When I received my replacement set, many of the same discs still did not work, so it is clearly a production issue that NBC Studios should look into but as far as I know, nothing has been done. In addition these aren't the complete episodes, they are syndicated versions. I rated it 2 stars because the box itself is pretty awesome. Hopefully they'll re-issue this set or at least fix the disc problems.

DON"T BUY THIS SET! DISKS DON"T PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
We both love this show and really want to have the whole series, BUT save yourself a LOT of trouble and don't buy this set. Here's our story:
Purchased (through Amazon) when the price dropped to the $80 to 90 mark. Received quickly (Amazon is the best for that), watched the first disk, played ok. Tried for the second disk - would only play about half way through, then locks up, jump around, frozen picture. Tried in several DVD players. Return - Amazon usually won't take back open items, but since this is defective they replace no problem. When filling out the return I notice SEVERAL YEARS of people complaining that this set doesn't play! Check competitors sites, SAME THING! This is not a good sign. I call Amazon, rep is nice, says they will suspend sales of item for review. Sure enough, the page has a "temporarily not available, under review for defects" or something similar. After 7 days, banner goes away, they call to say they return all stock and got a new shipment, they are sending us one. Sounds good! Return AGAIN -The second replacement comes - SAME ISSUES!!!! Return for refund, not going to go through that again. Tell Amazon again about the trouble. Item goes 'under review' again, then back on sale - what did they review? Always loved Amazon but now I feel that they are knowingly selling a defective product. 2 shipments, 3 different sets, all are unplayable. The DVDs are defective from the manufacturer - on close inspection it even looks like the layers inside are separating (a watery, wavy look on the shiny side). No response at all from Lionsgate (I emailed them)- let's just say they suck at customer service. Your choices are to by the individual seasons (and pay over $200, no thanks) or do without - this set will just piss you off when half the episodes can't be played.

IT'S ALL I EVER WANTED,
By
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
Will and Grace the complete series, its all I ever wanted. But I refuse to buy any of the dvd sets or this set if the episodes are not COMPLETE. Past sets have included the edited versions that are presented in syndication. I want nothing but the original episodes that I remember, but mostly don't remember, so I can enjoy them as they should be.

DVDs Defective,

This is one of my favourite series'. I would've given this 5 stars except for the fact that several of the dvds are defective. Episodes keep skipping so much that sometimes I can't even see more than a half or a third of an episode. I spent so much money on this and it feels like a con - like I bought bootleg or something.

Defective discs,
By Compulsive Toy Shopper (West Virginia, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
Bought this set new on sale at Bestbuy. These are the fussiest discs ever. None of my players have ever rejected a disc before, not even the most suspicious rentals so I know it's not my equipment. So far they will all play, but no 2 are the same in their quirks. I thought some discs wouldn't play at all since they wouldn't work in my blu-ray player, but they would play OK on the PCs. Some will play fine in the Blu-ray player but only IF I fool with going to the disc menu and "Play all" from there. Some will only play from "Play all" and not individual episodes from the list. Some discs freeze on the opening menu but will play if I hit "disc menu" on the remote. The most consistency I had was on computers.
I only paid $30 so I can't complain too much. I'd advise only buying this set IF it is on sale, and you have some flexibility as to where you watch them. If a computer isn't an option, think twice.

This review is from: Will & Grace: The Complete Series (DVD)
I am going to wait til they re-release this box set also. I really would love to own the complete series - but would ideally like it to be complete and on BLU-RAY!!! After reading comments on here, it doesn't sound worth it to me to buy this box set!!

Dvds are flawed,

Some DVDs will not play episodes. I checked the DVD for scratches and/or damage, there was none. If I use the "play all" option it skips over episodes. If I pick the individual option it boots me back to the main menu. I only made it to the second disk in the series, but will check the rest. I noticed this was an issue for other people, but I thought they resolved the problem. Guess I was wrong!
Update: I only made it through the first season. Disk #2 won't play the forth episode. Disk #3 skips during episodes. Disk #4 skips and will not play the last two episodes. The final DVD in the first season will not play at all. I gave up after so many issues with just the first season and send the box set back to Amazon. I'm going to wait until they re-release to purchase again.

Same gripes as eveyone else,

You can't call a series complete when the episodes are cut down and edited. Thanks NBC and Lionsgate for your lackluster reward for eight years of my allegiance.
