1.0 out of 5 stars Misinformation, December 22, 2011
This review is from: You Will Have to Learn to Love Me More (Paperback)
The author attempts to argue that Mary Baker Eddy, despite her own words to the contrary, is the "woman clothed with the sun" mentioned in Revelation. The screed first surfaced when the Christian Science Mailing Fund sent a letter of reprimand to either the Christian Science Board of Directors or the Publishing Society prompted by the publication of the appalling "Destiny of the Mother Church," by Bliss Knapp.

Keyston, the author, maintains that Bliss Knapp's view of Mary Baker Eddy was correct. Keyston then sent his book to the First Readers of all Christian Science churches, claiming that this was in rebuke to the Mailing Fund in compliance with the Matthew code (a three-step process advocated by Jesus as a means of rebuking wayward followers). He also imperiously commanded that all First Readers select readings for the Wednesday services that reinforce this misguided belief.

The most disturbing portion of the book is when Keyston attempts to justify Mrs. Eddy's own testimony in the Woodbury suit, when both she and her students maintained that she does not believe or teach that she is woman mentioned in Revelation.

Mary Baker Eddy has indeed done a poor job of teaching her students if she believed, contrary to her own words, that she is in fact this woman. She has revealed many times in her writings that God is Truth and man is the image and likeness of God. Wherefore, then, is Truth requiring his adherents to commit perjury?

Basically, Keyston is calling Mary Baker Eddy a liar who commanded her students to be liars as well.
