From Library Journal
Abrams (obstetrics and gynecology, Univ. of Colorado) says that this book "is designed to give you more information about the risks and potential benefits of some of the most commonly used prescription and over-the-counter drugs." He discusses common medical disorders seen during pregnancy and the impact that their usual treatment may have on the pregnant woman. He provides specific information about particular drugs--generic and brand names, side effects, dosage, safety during pregnancy, and possible alternatives. Also included is information about how drugs are judged to be safe or unsafe, a discussion of normal fetal development, and a listing of specific environmental and occupational hazards faced during pregnancy. Highly recommended.
