Accurate Explanation of Grief, Excellent Guidance,

This review is from: Will My Life Ever Be the Same? (Paperback)
I was so impressed with Dr. Wright's Trauma and Crisis Counseling that I decided to purchase this book, also written by the doc. I recently lost one of my sons and purchased a number of books on the topic of grief that looked like they might speak to what I was feeling and that were also highly rated. Norman Wright's books and C.S, Lewis' A Grief Observed stood apart from the pack (and it was a pretty sizeable pack!). There was a personal quality, an intimacy in the relationship between the writer and reader that could have only emerged through the raw, uncensored, honest self-disclosure of writers who have been there. Reading those three books felt like hearing from a compassionate mind reader. I especially recommend these books to Christians who may have challenging feelings around their faith as a byproduct of their loss and deep sorrow. Both authors are Christian and attend to this difficult dimension of the experience.

Highly recommend this book...one of best in my opinion. No cure all, but certainly provides some reasons for soul searching, thought provoking questions, and common survival characteristics.
