I GIVE THIS WOMAN A HAND,
By Leigh ann "fun" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Will Not Complain: My Life with Chronic Illness (Paperback)
When I first read this book, it touched me in so many ways. One I was thanking God that I am not dealing with all these illnesses that the author had, but it also made me aware that if difficulties occur in my life, which they will, being that we will all at one time or another in our lives have to face some type of illness, I am confident that after reading this book, that if this author can deal with so many problems and still smile, I can do the same. Two, after I read the book, I re-read it and put myself in the authors shoes and I thought this is a tough woman. I have always been conscience of my weight, looks, and clothing and HEALTH. But as I get older I notice that it gets harder to keep these things up, especially if your dealing with health problems that comes with age. So I read alot of books to motivate me and see how others deal with such things and I tell you -- read read read-- this book, it got me back on my feet and pushing myself again. And now I try not to be so hard on myself, but thank God for the life that he gave me and it's sometimes better to walk in my shoes than someone elses.

Hazel is very inspirational!,
By Kedest "kedest7" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Will Not Complain: My Life with Chronic Illness (Paperback)
Ms. Hazel is a very motivating and positive person. I feel very lucky to have such an amazing person in my life. She is one of the most caring and nurturing people that I know and it never stops to amaze me how much energy she has to care for others as well as her self. It is truly inspiring to read about her life and to see all of the obstacles that she had to overcome. I recommend this book to any one who feels overwhelmed with life's challenges and need inspiration to start taking care of themselves.

Don't ComplainI rated this book 5 stars because I feel it is an excellent book for anyone living with or without chronic illness. Having a positive attitiude allows you to do anything you set yor mind to. The book is very well written and not a long book. You should learn to take care of yourself first before trying to take care of someone else. There is nothing wrong with saying no.

Hazel rocks!!,
By Leigh Ann (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Will Not Complain: My Life with Chronic Illness (Paperback)
I am actually just sitting down to read this book, but already I know it will be fabulous, and inspirational, because that is how Hazel herself is. I had the honor to be Hazel's personal trainer, and saw first hand her determination and spirit. She has this amazing mind over matter attitude, and after working with her only a short time, I began to believe that anything is possible with the right attitude. I can't wait to read this book, and to have her positive attitude right on my nightstand at all times!!

i will not complain,
By gwendolyn laster (South Bend, In) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Will Not Complain: My Life with Chronic Illness (Paperback)
I thought this was an excellent book. I think Hazel revealed her illness in a way that made you feel like, Lord why am I complaining. To go thru so much and be able to raise a family alone and manage to work and deal with her health was remarkable. I have known Hazel for many years and until I read her book I had no idea what she was going thru. I can understand now there was no reason to pity her. Her book expressed her ability to go for the gold. She really is a strong woman. Even though her health is not good she still is able to volueteer to help others. An inspiring book.
