5.0 out of 5 stars Will Shortz does it again!
I must say, this is the best sudoku book I've had yet, and I've had all kinds. It's like a writing paper tablet, and you tear the pages out after you've done the puzzle. They are all printed on one side with the solutions on the back. So easy after the tiring hold the book open experiences! Highly recommended along with his Little Black Book of Sudoku, spiral bound. Great...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
This book has a good assortment of puzzles ranging from "Light and Easy" to "Beware - Very Challenging". I do not like the set up of the book. It opens like a normal book and then you flip the pages back over the top to work the level of puzzle you want to solve. It seems like the cover should flip back in the same direction as the puzzle pages. I find it awkward to...

Great paper, too! Works well with gel pens. Please get these books, you won't be disappointed!

5.0 out of 5 stars Will Shortz Presents The Little Flip Book of Sudoku, April 19, 2009

These are excellent Sudokus ranging from easy to difficult. But the thing that makes this Little Flip Book outstanding is that it is easy to hold while lying down. I have been ill, and this feature is important to me.

5.0 out of 5 stars sudoku, September 20, 2009

Great format for a sudoku book. I gave it to a friend who complained that other sudoku books were difficult to hold open and hard to write in.

1.0 out of 5 stars Solution shows through on puzzle page, May 7, 2010
By
testmaster (Nashua, NH USA) - See all my reviews
This sudoku book is unacceptable to me since 1/3 of the solution shows through on the puzzle page.

When working on a puzzle the solution for that puzzle's bottom 3 rows (1/3 of puzzle) is clearly visible (with reversed numbers), showing through from the backside of the too-thin page. This at least subconsciously gives the solver unintended clues, and I just find it greatly distracts my concentration to see reversed numbers above the puzzle.

This problem does not exist with (as just one example) Shortz's splendidly constructed book "The Little Luxe Book of Sudoku" which has all the solutions in the back.

Note also that this is not the book to get if you like to change-up between solving easy, medium, or hard puzzles. It is somewhat unwieldy to hold if not used as a "flip pad", going through in order from easy to medium to hard puzzles, and tearing off the top puzzle when you are done with it.

Love this book.... the convenience of tearing out a page when you have finished the puzzle! and all grades of difficulty.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad collection of puzzles BUT... One big drawback, July 16, 2011

This book has a decent collection of puzzles and will keep a Sudoku enthusiast busy for a long time. There is one significant drawback, however. The solution for each puzzle is on the back of the page you're working on. This wouldn't be an issue if the paper was thicker. As it is, you can see the bottom three rows of the puzzle you're working on right at the top if the page. This reduces the challenge a bit. Thicker paper, or a shift in the solutions to another page of the book would have solved this issue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not as small as I expected, unfortunately., February 27, 2011

I bought this thinking it would be a small flip book that would fit in my pocket so I could do these on the bus or an airplane. Unfortunately it's a little larger than a big novel so it's not as portable as I had hoped. This is in no way the publisher's fault or Amazon's, but I have to get that out there in case anyone like me come across this book.

Other than that, there are a lot of puzzles ranging from easy to difficult with nice bold fonts and solutions on the back side. It's a nice book to set on the side of your desk for when you're bored.
