This is a great book on Sudoku for kids. The book includes 150 puzzles. The puzzles are of various sizes: 4x4, 6x6, and 9x9. The solutions are at the end of the book. There are four levels of difficulty for the puzzles.

The first four pages in this book are dedicated for strategy, hints, rules, or tips. All the puzzles in the book are Classic Sudoku (with numbers). There are no Alphabet Sudoku (with letters) or Symbol Sudoku (with shapes and symbols) like the two books "Kindergarten Sudoku" and "Super Sudoku for Kids".

I bought this for my 6yo who'd been watching me do Sudoku. He started on the 4x4 problems and was knocking them out in a couple of minutes each. He worked straight through for about an hour and made it through 35 getting to 'Level 2', 6x6 puzzles. These also started easy, but got more challenging. By the time he was almost at Level 3, 9x9 puzzles, the 6x6 had gotten as hard as 6x6's can get and were taking him ~10 minutes each. Now when he started the 9x9's he didn't get frustrated that they took longer, and he knew that as long as he didn't give up he'd get the answers.

Frankly, I can't imagine how any book could have done a better job of teaching him Sudoku, such that he is confident with full size puzzles!

I ordered this for something for my just completed 5th grader to do this summer. I would say it is challenging for someone at that age - not too hard, but not too easy, and I highly recommend this compilation of puzzles. Games like these are great as it gets them thinking vs. the sterotypical playing video games and watching TV.

I bought this book for my 5 year old son, who was always looking over my shoulder with interest when I was doing my own sudoku puzzles. He was so interested, but I didn't think there were puzzles geared towards children - but this fits the bill perfectly. It starts off with easy puzzles and because they are, it gives them confidence that they can do them. He whizzed through the book and in no time was filling in the squares before I could even ask him what he thought the correct number would be. This definitely sharpens their minds and if your child loves numbers, they'll enjoy this.

It's a good book to introduce kids to sudoku. It starts off very easy and then gradually becomes more challenging.

To give the kids a taste of Will Shortz's talents; the kids always get a book of some sort with their gifts, and this looks good, especially for ones that have shown an interest in pencil puzzles.

This book is great if you're just learning Sudoku! Would highly recommend. Starts out easy and slowly progesses to more challenging puzzles.

I, at first, thought that the Sukoku in this book would be difficult for kids, but, Will Shortz, always the master, didn't disappoint. My 8 year-old granddaughter finds the difficult ones a challenge, but is able to do them. Surprisingly, my 5 year-old grandson, who is a kindergartener is, not only interested, he also has succeeded in completing easiest puzzles and is trying to work his way up. I'm very pleased with this purchase. Kids who enjoy puzzles and challenges will love this book.

Great for kids just learning Sudoku and great for parents who dont want to think to hard and just enjoy the game
