This book has touched me in more ways than one.

As I started reading the beginning of this book..it gave me chills..as I too want to know where my daughter (shes 19) is and get worried when she doesn't answer her cell. You never know what can happen and I want to know that she's ok at all times! My biggest fear is something happening...so it was very heartwrenching to know that for Angie, my fear came true..:-(

I was also one of Angies co-workers at the time this happened and I can't even put to words on how I felt the day I found out about her daughter..its just one of those things that you don't think can happen to someone you know. So very sad!

I'm happy to know that she is ok now..that through the grace of God she got through this!

I am a pastor. I have stood at the sides of husbands who have lost wives, wives who have lost husbands, children who have lost parents. The hardest of all is parents who have lost children. I know, since I have stood not only with those parents, but also with my own sister in the death of her son.

Angie actually sent me a complimentary PDF copy of the book, requesting a review. Knowing that even opening the book to glance at it would reopen my memories, I almost decided not to read it, but I am glad I did.

In this very short book, Angie chronicles not only the first dark days following her daughter's death, but also the months following. She shares how God helped her through those days until she was able to rebuild her life and finally to smile again. She shares the names of each person who brought comfort and special Bible verses that encouraged her.

It is one mother's story, and she wrote it to let others know that they, too, would smile again one day. My favorite line in it spoke of the fact that friends and loved ones could bring comfort, but only God could bring healing. Angie did not mention it in her book, but a source of infinite comfort to me was that God's Son had been killed, and that He knew the pain of a parent at this time.

With love to Angie and all parents who have walked through this nightmare. You are not alone, and as Angie shares, one day you will find a way to smile again.

For anyone who has lost someone, especially the sudden losses, this book candidly speaks to the hurts and insecurities experienced when tragedy strikes. I found the book to be emotionally insightful and spiritually uplifting. Thanks so much to the author for your transparency!! It helps so much to know that we can pull off our masks and deal with our emotions. Only this will allow us to heal.
