How All Inspirational Romances Should Be Written,

This review is from: A Will and a Wedding (Love Inspired #9) (Mass Market Paperback)
Cassie takes care of foster children at the Mansion at Oak Bluffs. The owner passes away. In the will it says that she can keep the mansion if....she marries Jefferson William Haddon III. He's a millionaire, who is a kind of loner. Cassie cannot deny her attraction to him. Jeff wants to keep things all business, but he cannot help himself when it comes to the lively children Cassie cares for, and Cassie herself. She starts to believe that maybe their marriage was heaven sent, and show him just what a family really is and love.
Jeff had a problem showing affection because his parents never showed him any. He has problems with that so there's plenty of conflict, romance and story. This is a 1997 book. A lot of Love Inspired books are too 'sweet' and don't actually do any kissing until the last chapter. Bland. It's not realistic. This book is realistic with a lot of spark, that's why I love it. If you can find it, grab it because it's very very good!

A Will And A Wedding,
This review is from: A Will and a Wedding (Love Inspired #9) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was a sweet and wonderfully written about love, forgiveness, and how anyone can make a family work. I loved reading about the struggles that Jeff and Cassie faced. Throughout it all Cassie trusted God to see them through their problems. I loved the theme and the general message of the story. A must read for any Love Inspired reader.

Jefferson William Haddon III is determind no child will be stuck with a name like his, so his dream is to have a son and call him Robert.Cassandra Newton loves kids and does short term fostering for kids about to be adopted or have parents with problems of their own. Jefferson's Aunt dies and leaves her house and land to Jeff and Cassie, with a clause that they marry to keep it. Cassie doesn't want a stuffed shirt, and Jefferson doesn't want a real wife, he just wants a woman to give him a son. Soon Jefferson learns to love Cassie and her charges, but has a problem giving them back to their parents, or to people who want to adopt them. This book has it all, it makes you laugh, cry, and mad then delights you in one setting, once you pick it up, plan to finish it, it won't let you go till the end.

If ever there was a book that deserved to end with the phrase, "And they all lived happily ever after," it's this one! This book captivated my interest from the very beginning and kept it all the way through. If I could have, I would have read it from beginning to end in one setting.
A bit different, the main characters get married near the beginning of the book, but it's not until the very last sentence of the very last chapter that the constimate their marriage. Though both had tried to find opportunities before, 'something' kept coming up. Either a child tried to set the house on fire, someone tried to video tape their intimate moment, a cover-up was discovered, or something else... This is one book where you find yourself laughing, crying, and wanting to punch someone all on the same page. The loving banter between husband and wife was absolutely wonderful! They just seemed to love each other from the beginning, and we could see things they couldn't see themselves... The author did a wonderful job making a ridiculous plot turn out beautifully and believable. This is a must, must, must!!! If you like romance, you will LOVE this book!!! Oh, and though I didn't appreciate the lost data scene at all (thought Jeff was way over the top), I LOVED the flat tire scene! That was probably my favorite - the way she dishes out to Jeff what he had dished out to her days before, but unlike her when he yelled at her, Jeff came through like a knight on a white horse and delivered her where she needed to be. I had expected him to do some of the stuff, but some of the things he did during that scene was absolutely breathtaking! The words in the book are rather small since the story had to fit on 250 pages, but it was WELL worth using the magnifying glass!!! |
