Will the image go strait through to a tape deck ??

No. The camera has an HDMI out so you can go straight to a flat screen TV. There is not RCA video out like you would need for a tape deck.

You can use the camera to "transfer" your video to either analog or digital video recorders.

You can transfer to a computer, a digital voice recorder, a flash drive. Not sure about a tape deck

No. The High Definition data is stored in .mts container video files.
The files would need to be converted to a format acceptable to a
tape deck. You would need to research how to do it. Alternately
you can convert .mts easily to DVD format by using a video
conversion utility then coy from DVD to tape deck.
