5.0 out of 5 stars Another Sweet Story, May 31, 2008
This is the continuing story of Willa Havisham, a high school freshman from Cape Cod. She is a wonderful girl, very reminiscent of Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables; she's a dreamer, reader, fantasizer, and all-around decent girl with a loving home and spirit. In this book Willa is helping to plan two weddings on the same weekend, and she is looking for a new community project (her last one was helping the local library raise funds). Her boyfriend, JFK/Joey, also plays a key role in the story; he forms a relationship with a new girl in town that Willa has mixed feelings about. Willa's feelings towards her stepfather Sam also come to the forefront in this story. Overall, this is an excellent series and this 3rd book is much better than the 2nd one was (Cupid Chronicles) because it gets back to exploring the character of Willa and her fanciful musings about love and life. It's a really great story for tween girls. I'm giving it five stars because of the quality of writing for this age group and the decent character and storyline it offers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Story Sweet As Willa's Favorite cherry Cordials, July 4, 2008

(REAL NAME)
This book is amazing! I ate it up in three hours, sitting in the bathroom till midnight till my tense-from-reading fingers flipped to the last page, my tired eyes relished the last sentence, and my exhausted hands closed the book. This ah-mazing book picks up where The Cupid Chronicles left off. Willa Havisham, with new boyfriend Joey Kenelly/JFK have been crowned "most compatible couple" at Bramble Academy. Just as they begin to enjoy their status, Willa's eye catches a sign advertising auditions for a community play, Our Town. She heads off the pick up a copy of the book, and convinces JFK to audition with her. She figures if he gets the male leading role, and she gets the female leading role, it will be incredibly romantic. Once at the auditions the new girl in town, who by the way is gorgeous, swoops in and steals the lead role from Willa! What could be worse??? Oh, maybe that JFK ended up with the male lead role!!! Or that the two kiss onstage!!!

With enough to deal with, Willa's life gets chaotic when they begin to flirt, plus with a new sibling on the way, things get out of control. With heartbreak, laughter, smiles, and more, you will be just like me, flipping rapidly to get to the end of this fabulous, amazing, moving, book.

I recommend it 100%

5.0 out of 5 stars Willa by heart ( the wedding Planner's daughter), May 14, 2008

Wonderful! My 15 year old neice introduced this series to my 12 year old, who does not like to read. She could not put them down. It was delightful for my husband and I to find her reading every chance she had. I have noticed that now all my daughters friends, who have very different tastes, are reading them as well. So the books seem to appeal to a wide "tween" audience. A definite purchase!

5.0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too, June 4, 2009
Willa is looking forward to spending another fun summer on Cape Cod and auditioning for the local production of Our Town. She thinks that she and boyfriend, Joey, are perfect for the lead roles. She's also keeping busy planning weddings at the Bramble Inn, and preparing to become a big sister.

But when the beautiful new girl ends up getting the lead in Our Town over Willa, Willa isn't sure what will become of her and Joey!

I adore THE WEDDING PLANNER'S DAUGHTER series. Each book is like taking a vacation with Willa to Cape Cod, and they're the perfect summer reads.

Willa's story gets better with each book and this one is no different. Willa is such a fun, bubbly person that you can't help but smile when you read about her and want to cheer her on through the tough times. They might look like a light read, but Ms. Paratore tackles some tough issues and handles them delicately, which makes this series more than just a light, fluffy read.

Even though they are marketed mostly to the tween set, I've given this series to teens and adults alike who have fallen in love with Willa. At times reminiscent of classics such as ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, fans of old-

fashioned stories will enjoy this series.

I'll always be eager to read more about Willa and her life on Cape Cod.

4.0 out of 5 stars Willa by Heart (Wedding Planner's Daughter), February 21, 2012
Willa by Heart is defiantly a book to read because the book is alive and you're on your seat wondering what's going to happen next. The characters are well developed and you start to feel like you know them. Willa is independent and a strong hearted person for charity. She's always looking for the next best thing to help people. The other characters are support and draw out the best in her. I started to care about the characters thinking why were they doing this and what were they thinking with some of their actions. The author does a great job of keeping you entertained with the imagery, other literary devices and feeling like the story is playing in your head. The imagery the author uses is so descriptive and well played. One literary device that I found is a simile. It is rap is like poetry except it's music. This is saying that rap and poetry are both alike because they express your thoughts and feelings like music does. You will get so into the book that you won't want to put it down with the package of unpredictable twists and turns. This book concludes with a happy ending for everyone with surprises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great third novel, June 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is the third book in the series, and the character of Willa continues to.

In this book, Willa is dealing with quite a few problems: her mom's expecting, she has a boyfriend that a girl named Mariel seems to want, she wants the lead in the community play that Mariel seems to want, and she has one last service project.

The book is written with care. For this to be the third book, I found myself enjoying Willa as a character more than in the first book. I am looking forward to the series continuing. I don't think Willa is done quite yet.
