I bought this for my mom after watching her struggle with the Thanksgiving turkey in 2006. She loves it. She cooks turkeys several times a year and this has been wonderful for her.

Until Thanksgiving 2008... She was pulling the perfectly cooked turkey out of the roaster onto the cutting board and the sling tore and the bird went flying.

The left handle piece separated in almost a perfect line from the round bit that goes under the turkey.

It really is a shame because she would brag about this little device.

The product performed as advertised. I used a 22 lb turkey and the sling slid a bit, but it is supposed to be for a maximum 18 lb. bird, so I wasn't too surprised. I'll have to try a smaller turkey next time. The only complaint I have about this item is that it is not available at some kind of kitchen specialty shop. I tried three Kitchen Collection stores before I gave up and ordered it on the internet.

I bought this "sling" for my mom to use for the thanksgiving turkey. She bought a 12lb turkey and was able to lift it out with ease using this produce. My mom absolutely loved it. No more turkey getting stuck to the bottom of the pan - was great. While there are other turkey lifters out there, ones that look like pitch forks or onces that are metal and go in the bottom on the pan, the "sling" won first place.
