Entirely revised and brought up-to-date, this second edition of a successful book presents the only authoritative annotated bibliography of the most celebrated English composer of the sixteenth and early seventeenth century. Completely reworked and enlarged to include 2000 entries, this jam-packed new edition includes: research collected in the past ten years; new editions of Byrd's music and his complete musical compositions; a new introduction to Byrd research outlining the latest thinking; and emphasis on the last decade's explosion of book-length works on Byrd and his music. Widely studied and performed, Byrd's works are considered models of their time, and this book will prove invaluable to researchers, students and scholars of this talented and revered individual.
