Everything on this CD is beautiful and up to Carwood's usual high standards, but the standout selection is the Passion according to St. John. The combination of dignity and expressiveness in their presentation of this text is riveting. Instead of my usual reaction to a Passion setting, "well, that was very good, but I'm glad it's finally over", I wanted to listen to it again right away. It's just wonderful.

I purchased this recording specifically for "Terra tremuit". The whole recording, though, is excellent. A wonderful ensemble!
