This review is from: William Faulkner's the Wild Palms: A Study (The Mississippi quarterly series in Southern literature) (Hardcover)
"An editorial change that may well become one of the most famous blunders In literary history was the decision to drop William Faulkner's original title for the book we know as the wild palms., Thomas L. McHaney demonstrates fully just what a blunder that was in his thorough study of intricate counterpoint relationship of the love story "the wild palms" and the river story " the old man " .original title, if I forget thee, Jerusalem, according to McHaney, announces the unity of the book, the whole Psalm explicitly bridging the two apparently disparate tales which make up the novel".
