A Nice Summary Of Harrison, September 9, 2010
This review is from: William Henry Harrison: Ninth President of the United States (Encyclopedia of Presidents) (Library Binding)
After reading biographies of the first eight U.S. Presidents via the "American Presidents" series, I was disappointed that they didn't have an installment regarding the ninth, William Henry Harrison, despite his very short stay in office.
Thus, I decided to give this series a try before returning to "American Presidents" with John Tyler. Though this book is written at about the level of a seventh grade textbook, it actually does a very nice job of recapping the crucial events of Harrison's life and times, which is exactly what I was looking for on my quest to study up on every U.S. President.
About the only thing that disappointed me is that I wish more information would have been included about Harrison's short stay in the White House. That information is literally relegated to the final page of the book.
All in all, though, this is a nice, simple little biography of Harrison that can be gotten through in under an hour.
