This slim volume is just short of a fan's notes. In six years, Hurt has been transformed from respected New York stage actor to Hollywood star with an eye for "significant" projects like The Big Chill, Body Heat, and his two Oscar-nominated roles in Kiss of the Spider Woman and Children of a Lesser God. The author mines as many clippings as she can, but the file on Hurt, a notoriously difficult interview, is pretty thin. Recommended only for the largest collections.
