Grade 6-8-A general biography of Clinton that offers some details of his childhood and education, describes his achievements in Arkansas, and concentrates on his rise to the Presidency. It does not offer much information about events since he took office, but ends with a chapter on the makeup of his cabinet and the roles Hillary Clinton is expected to play in his administration. Kent is admiring of Clinton, but does mention the uproar over Gennifer Flowers as well as the persistent charges of draft-dodging. The numerous black-and-white photos are a good addition to the text. This is a fuller, more informative look at the man than Sherrow's extremely brief Bill Clinton (Dillon, 1993). It will be useful for reports on Clinton's background, but there is nothing here that will help readers understand many of the complex issues he is now facing. A good choice for libraries that have a need for more report materials about our 42nd president.
