Georgeanne Brennan is an acclaimed food writer who also runs a vacation cooking school in a medieval village in Haute Provence, France. Her many cookbooks include the award-winning Food and Flavors of Haute Provence and Aperitif, as well as Savoring France in the Williams-Sonoma Savoring series. Format: Hardcover-spiral Verified Purchase
from Williams Sonoma, I got it a few weeks ago and held off looking through until I had time to do it justice. Yesterday was the day! Beautiful photos and recipes, but as I was reading I noticed that much of it seemed familiar. I searched the book and found on the back page the following statement "the recipes in this book have been previously published in individual titles in the Williams Sonoma Entertaining Series". Maybe I'm missing something, but I could not see this information disclosed on the Product Desciption page and I feel it should be. It would likely have changed my decision to purchase as I have a number of the other books, and will now go through and compare to see if there are enough recipes to justify keeping this book, otherwise I will give it to my son.

Other than this issue, the book is lovely to look at, Williams Sonoma do a beautiful job with photography and I have found anything I have cooked from their books has been successful for me. It has a spiral binding - not sure if I prefer this over the normal binding in my other WS books (they mostly seem to lay flat anyway, or I use a cookbook stand), it does mean the pages lay completely flat, but I worry that the pages may eventually wear and tear along the perforations.

This book is naturally divided into seasons and has a nice range of cocktails at the start of each one - maybe a little top-heavy in this area for me - along with a nice range of recipes, including one of our all-time favourites Farro and Tuna Salad, which I make with couscous and my daughter can not get enough of :)

Beautiful book with amazing recipes. I appreciate the photos with the recipes. Every recipe I've tried has turned out perfectly. Highly recommend.
