Lives up to its title!,

This review is from: A Williams-Sonoma Taste of the World (Hardcover)
I had the opportunity to browse this book in a store before making the online purchase.
This book is great. It's not to hard to follow and the directions don't feel wordy. Many recipes feature ingredients that are not hard to find. But of course, being a book of recipes from around the world, you will come across some unfamiliar ingredients that will require shopping at a specialty store. But that's the fun of this book. It features a tidbit on the recipes so you can transport yourself somewhere else through the foods of the locals. Besides being a great cookbook, it's also a great read. The pictures capture the environment of the food's origin. I've never been this satisfied with a cookbook purchase. This is a must-buy!

If you are looking for different things from around the world to make for dinners, this is the book for you. Even for a " beginner" like myself, this book is great.

I absolutely adore this cookbook. Along with wonderful recipes from around the world, the book includes pictures and educational articles on food types and the world usage. Each recipe is labeled with its origin, and while the recipes aren't so "out there" to scare an intermediate chef, many do utilize ingredients or processes that will delight someone looking for something out of the ordinary. The pictures are fantastic and allow this book to be a great "coffee-table" book to spark a guest's interest. Definitely a must buy!
