Willie Sugarcapps gets triple duty on this album. It's the name of the band, the name of the album and the title of the lead-off track on this album which I've had on nearly constant rotation since I saw the band two weeks ago at the Americana Music Conference in Nashville play two different showcases in one day (and Kimbrough was backing up other musicians all week!)

The "man behind the band" is Nashville-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Will Kimbrough who wrote the majority of the songs here. (You may also know him as half of the duo Daddy with Tommy Womack). Kimbrough was jamming with other musicians at a music gathering in Alabama and met the others (Grayson Capps, Corky Hughes, Savana Lee and Anthony Crawford; the latter two known as the duo Sugarcane Jane). They had such fun that they decided to make this album. I'm glad they did.

I've got a bunch of favorite tracks besides the title one. "Oh Colorado" and "Mud bottom: are just two. Kimbrough is listed as playing six different instruments on the album and all the others are multi-instrumentalists as well. This a blend of bluegrass and "Americana" and, if you like either I think you'll like this one too.
I hope you found this review both informative and helpful.

I absolutely LOVE this album. Since purchasing it, it hasn't left the CD player. Am I biased because Willie SUgarcapps and I are from the same town? Maybe a little, but I like to think I'd appreciate this album just as much even if I didn't get to see the band live and local. The group is long on talent and the energy they put into this music is amazing. My personal favorite tracks are "Oh, Colorado" (Kimbrough's lyric's are as lovely as Savannah Lee's voice as she sings them) and "Up to the Sky" (upbeat and very catchy). Will Kimbrough, Corky Hughes and Anthony Crawford are all versatile and amazing on things with strings, and Grayson Capps lends a pleasing voice.

As of this writing (11/14/13) they're no. 18 on the Americana Top 25 Radio Chart, sandwiched neatly between The Tedeschi Trucks Band and The Avett Brothers. That's fine and fitting company for this talented, homegrown, Indie super-group, and might give you an idea of what to expect if you decide to check them out. I say, do yourself a favor and do it!

I've known some of these great Lower Alabama artists for over 30 years. Will Kimbrough and Corky Hughes are two of the greatest guitar players from the South. The writing is excellent. I've become addicted to Grayson Capps and Sugarcane Jane. They all fit perfectly. So glad to see them all together on this EXCELLENT LP. Keep it up guys! Can't wait for the next album:) Buy it! You won't regret it.

There are only a couple of tracks on this that I don't care for. The majority is just awesome, the harmonies and the energy here are great. And this isn't even my usual music venue

Nice example of several artists with varying individual styles coming together to do something quite different - and very nice. So far I've bought individual songs - not the whole CD - but I haven't heard anything that wasn't well-crafted and well worth the listen.
