This review is from: Willow Creek & Other Ballads (Audio CD)
If you like mellow but complex jazz piano, this is for you. Marian McPartland has created a gem of an album, the kind where you can imagine the player is in your own living room. There is not a jarring, or to my ears, a wrong note in the entire album. This compares favorably with Keith Jarrett's "The Melody At Night, With You," another of my favorite albums. Both albums are pure seduction, adagio (or andante) masterpieces. The McPartland has less well known songs, but they are almost all gems. The sound is warmly recorded, and very clear. On a scale of 1-10, this is an 11.
