"So loved, so very loved" Since 2000, Susan Lordi has been creating these figurative sculptures that speak in quiet ways of deep emotion and inspiration. Artist Susan Lordi carves each original sculpture, then pieces are cast from her original carving in resin and individually painted by hand. Expression is conveyed by gestures only - a tilt of the head, a turn of the body, or placement of the hands. The simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. Emotions are left to the viewer to interpret, which makes them powerful and personal. It is Susan Lordi's hope that these pieces be meaningful to both the giver and the receiver.

I bought this angel for myself at the hospital gift store. My son died, and I got to hold him once, and this angel reminds me of that time. I am now buying it for a friend who also lost a baby but got to hold him once. If you ever find yourself in this situation, or find a friend in this situation, please remember that tangible reminders of the baby mean very much.

I bought this for myself when I was pregnant with our first child. I wanted to look at it and imagine what it would be like once our son was actually here in my arms. As soon as my husband saw it he broke down into tears. I didn't realize he would be moved so much by a figurine. Willow Tree really makes products that can touch anyone's heart.

Like the other reviewer I also received this for my 1st Mother's Day and it was an absolutely perfect gift! Very meaningful and sentimental - can't believe my husband came up with the idea on his own (well....perhaps he didn't)!!
