Willow Tree Promise Figurine - Hold dear the promise of love. Male and female figures embracing in dance pose. Resin. 9" high. Comes gift boxed. Since 2000, Susan Lordi has been creating these figurative sculptures that speak in quiet ways of deep emotion and inspiration. Artist Susan Lordi carves each original sculpture, then pieces are cast from her original carving in resin and individually painted by hand. Expression is conveyed by gestures only - a tilt of the head, a turn of the body, or placement of the hands. The simplicity of form and the absence of facial features signify Willow Tree. Emotions are left to the viewer to interpret, which makes them powerful and personal. It is Susan Lordi's hope that these pieces be meaningful to both the giver and the receiver.

This is a unique gift and I highly recommend giving it to someone for a sentimental occassion. I gave this to my parents for an anniversary and they loved it...My mother began collecting the Willow Tree figurines as a result! They are very simple and never look out of date or chinsey over time.

I have to admit, it is a bit large and heavy for a cake top, but we will have cheese cake, and it can handle more, and may just place it to the side, with the cakes around it (assorted ones) and let it stand on it's own.

This is the most lovely and romantic figurine, almost a small statue. My fiance and I adore it, and want to remain in the feeling it evokes in us all the time. all angles of t his figure are lovely, so none walking by will get a true "back" or bad view of it. Sweet, innocent and calming is the way I would describe it, and at the price i paid, quite the find!
