5.0 out of 5 stars the feeling spectrum
I love this record. I have never heard a record that touches on so many feelings without sounding pretentious or contrived. The sincerity I feel from the music and voice is really what makes me such a huge fan of Today is the Day. It just sounds so real and honest. I definitely hear the influence of this record in bands like converge and deadguy. It has that...

3.0 out of 5 stars DONT PAY $60 DOLLARS FOR THIS ALBUM
At the time that I am writing this review this cd is out of print and there is only one availiable, used and they want 60 dollars for it. They are jerks. I own this cd and it isn't worth more than the price of a regular cd and there aren'y very many songs on it.

It has that noise-metal-mathy vibe with a strong sense of early 90's indie rock. Steve Austin is so friggin "into" what he does, I just cant help but love it. I have massive respect for that guy. WILLPOWER will not leave you dissapointed. It's like Nine Inch Nails in attitude, but a hell of a lot more scary. This record is very intense, yet somehow accessible. You can actually sing along to it. infact you can sing along to all Today is the Day records. I recommend all of them, but this one really got to me in a way few records do. Man I love this record.

Still the most chaotic, ugly, beautiful, sad, angry, and powerful record of all time. Today is the Day at their finest.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Lived Every Note!, March 25, 2009
This review is from: Willpower (Audio CD)
I got this CD when it first came out,and was a fan of "Supernova" TITD's first album also.I was totally down with a lot of the Amphetamine Reptile bands of that era(Helmet,Hammerhead,Chokebore ETC.)so naturally I picked this one up.............I was completely BLOWN AWAY!This album still ranks as my favorite TITD album, and I've followed Steve Austin's constantly rotating band changes since, but nothing compares to the shear terror, angst, and isolated feelings of this one.More recent TITD albums have a little too much lock-step metal-by-numbers riffs for my taste. This album comes of as a prog rock masterpiece that was lost from the 70's (that's a compliment by the way.)This album still gives me chills down my spine...........especially at EXTREME volume, and after consuming enough Bourbon.

4.0 out of 5 stars generic title, April 20, 2006
This review is from: Willpower (Audio CD)
This isn't your typical Today is the Day album at least compared to later material. On this particular album the evil sound doesn't take over as much or make it seem so disturbing it's hard to listen to. With that said this is what makes this album seem better than much of the other material. This is the sound of a different TITD than the later material. The drumming is all over the place. The guitar playing is extremely creative, think Fripp, but with more noise. The bass often times keeps everything in check. For the time this came out it is a groundbreaking album. In fact there really isn't much of anything as far as "metal" goes you can compare it to. The musicianship is a step above most anything, you can actually tell what they're playing. The vocals don't come off sounding like the stupid cheese you normally hear. It's probably not worth paying $60 for, but nothing is. Try to luck out and find it in a used bin for $8 and you'll get more than your money's worth.
