I'm a retiree working in my garage at home and I needed to measure the thickness of some mower parts. The plastic caliper worked great. The scale was a little hard to read but so are the ones on the expensive steel calipers. The calipers worked great for my needs - inexpensive and accurate, but white markings would have been perfect.
