Finally!,

This review is from: Wilson Augusta Brass Putter
I putt both right and left handed and have wanted a single putter (not being able to afford two). The closest I found was a vintage Bullseye, which I promptly bought even though it had considerably wear. This is almost an exact copy, so I snapped it up at first sight and have been very pleased with its performance.

Used a brass blade Wednesday of the same design and I started sinking putts all day. Ordered this Wilson on Friday. Looks like my expensive putter is headed for my old bag. I'll keep you posted. There is a new Rory in town!6/23/11 The putter was delivered today. New and in great condition. The weight seems ideally heavey. The handle is rubberized with a Wilson label. Steel shaft. Once the greens dry out I'll give a try. 7/1/11 This Augusta works for me. Excellent balance. Shaft length perfect. Solid or gentle hits run true. Good results on the greens. If they restock I'm going to order another as a gift for my son!

Absurd lack of basic two-way putters,

Like Gail Bailey in the previous review, I switch putt (depending on the break). It's ridiculously simple and effective, never putting across your body.In summer '95 I bought a new Titleist Bullseye Wide Blade putter, the classic John Reuter Jr. design. The heavy clubhead is perfect since it's much easier to remain consistent on both sides if I default to a smooth stroke without too much force. I would have purchased a half dozen if I'd known the bizarre future of putter design. My bullseye is well worn on both sides, disturbing nicks that I blame when the lip outs arrive. I've been unable to find a more pristine replacement. This Wilson Augusta qualifies and is very classy, but it is much lighter. That's the only reason I allow 4 stars and not 5.

I had an Odyssey two ball putter. It was a gift from a friend. I gave it away. It was WAY too gimmicky, as most putters are these days. My putting has improved with the Wilson Augusta putter.
