Excellent and compact. Good quality. I lost one and searched all over for just this one.

Pros: 1. Compact; 2. Telescopes smoothly.

Cons: 1. Orange head is fragile. (See below.) 2. Placing the orange circle over the ball and pressing down to "catch" it does not work as intended. To "capture" the ball, you must be able to scoop it up or come down on it and quickly turn the retriever over so ball will rest in the circle (like an egg in an egg cup). As a training aid in dexterity and concentration, it is the best!

Update (October 15, 2010): The orange head broke off (the one I bought Dec. 16, 2009) when the attendant at my course let the retriever (housed in a side pocket of my golf bag) swing against his leg too roughly as he removed the bag from the car. Whoops! (Cannot be repaired--I tried!) Okay. Be more careful. Bought a second one (Mar. 26, 2010). This time when my bag was returned to my trunk--snap, crackle & pop goes the orange head!

The rep at Amazon (800-201-7575) listened to my sad tale of double decapitation. "So sorry. Must call within 30 or 45 days." (Whatever!) Gave me Wilson number (800-469-4576) to report as defective. That rep said, "We license this product to XYZ at 800-645-7215." Called that rep. First one said, "We only make them. Amazon must do refund." Asked for supervisor. Finally. "We will send you two new ones." THANK YOU!

I used it about 8 times before it broke, I would not recommend this item

Great to have, very compact. Ordered two... both retriever parts of the unit slipped out of the cardboard they were in (inside the amazon box)... and the orange section was snapped off on one. Amazon or whoever needs to reinforce the top part of the box so this does not happen.

We had the same retriever and we lost it. Since this product is hard to find, I went ahead and purchased 2 so we have a reserve.

I bought one from Amazon. It was a piece of junk and I sent it back. That's all.

$108 are you kidding me? This product is way too high just for a ball retriver. I'm glad my balls are in the fairway. Keep one in my bag just in case, purchased from Walmart for less than $15.

The first one came in broken, the second one lasted nine months, then broke. Think about it....not used that often...at least if you hit the ball OK!

This ball retriver was purchased as a replacement for one that was lost. It works well and is nice to have a new one for a reasonable price.

I purchased this product with the thinking that it would be convenient to have if my ball was just out of reeach in the water. The first Retriver I received had the round orange part broken off. I assumed it occured duing shipping. The box did not have any paper or padding surrounding it and was able to flop around inside the box. I returned it and promply recieved a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement was defective. When retracted in the compact position the first section closest to the handle would not tighten up and stay retracted. That section would slide in and out at will. I thought about keeping it then decided to return it. I decided that I do no hit into the water that often and really didn't need this product so asked for a refund instead of a replacement. The return process was very easy and prompt. the product was picked up the day after I processed the return and everything went very smoohtly.
