I purchased the Verizon version of the sleek amplifier. So far, it has met all of my expectations. I am an over the road truck driver, who spends most of his week on I 80 west of the Mississippi. I use this unit constantly and won't drive without it now. I can now get a signal in Wyoming in locations I couldn't previously. My battery lasts longer than it did without the sleek and I can charge my phone from the unit as well.

I have used a hard-wired Wilson booster for years (one that connects directly into the phone with an adapter), and have loved getting service on my phone in places no one else could. I live in the west (Idaho) and frequently travel into mountainous and fairly remote areas for camping and hunting. I have been able to use my phone in many of these areas. I recently got a new smartphone, and realized that it had no connection point - very few phones have them anymore. I could have gotten the cradle-plus, which is similar to the Sleek, but uses your existing amplifier, but would not have gotten the boost in 4G signal with it. I am now with Verizon and found that Wilson made this unit that is made for both the CDMA voice signal and Verizon's "channel 13" 4G, so decided to give it a try.
I tested the Sleek against my hard-wired amp with my old LG phone. I have the same large Wilson antenna connected to each amplifier, so comparisons should be equal. Signal value before the amp, inside the vehicle, was -90 dBm and 2 bars (out of 4). When connected to the hard-wired amplifier, the signal went to -74 dBm and 3 bars...nice solid improvement. When placed in the Sleek, the signal jumped to -49 dBm and 4 bars!! I was very surprised and excited to say the least. I figured that the direct-connect system would work better since the signal was "piped" directly into the phone, but the Sleek out performed it soundly.
Now for before and after comparison on my new RAZR HD - signal without Sleek: 1x -76dBm and 4 bars (out of 5), 4G -96 dBm and 2 bars (out of 5). After placement in the cradle: 1x -48 dBm and 5 bars, 4G -71 dBm and 4 bars! Once again, a very nice bump in performance, and no need of wires to connect to the phone.
I am extremely impressed with the performance from the Sleek, and am eager to test it out this summer and fall in remote areas. I am sure that I will not be disappointed. Great product!

We travel a lot in our RV and sometimes end up in places with very weak or none existing cell phone reception. This almost always boosts the reception twice. For example a 3G signal with 2 bars goes up to a 4G signal with 4 bars.

I've been fooling around with signal boosters for a year or so now, and always been a bit disappointed. One of the obstacles has always been the conflict between the outside antenna and the inside unit trying to get connected to the cell phone.

Since my phone (Droid RAZR MAXX) doesn't have an antenna connector, I decided to try this close-coupled approach, where it's still "wireless", but the coupling is so tight that the signals between outside antenna and inside cell phone simply are not going to fight with each other.

It was a smart decision. I hooked the Sleek up to a Wilson Trucker external antenna, and whattayaknow the little phone signal bars just started ramping right up.

I have an app (Antennas) that shows what cell tower I'm connected to, and another app (Real Signal) that gives me good data on signal strength. I experimented on a mountain road, going in and out of canyons and over ridgelines into severely signal-deprived areas. When I'd get down to one, or no bars (red-dot "no service" indicator), I'd then slide the phone into the cradle and power it up. In almost every single area, I got from one to four bars, and often I'd get upgraded from 1X to 3G or even 4G. In one place, the antenna selection jumped from a far-away 3G tower to an even farther-away 4G tower. My signal went from 2-bar3G to 4-bar4G with the booster on!!

So, I'm stoked. I am totally convinced that if I can find even a miserable whisper of a signal, that booster will make it usable for my phone.

BTW - I learned that the FCC limits the output power of all boosters to 3W. This means, that even if you get a huge-gain antenna (Wilson sells one with a 48db spec), you'll still be capped at 3W for the phone's power talking back to the tower.

I bought this to help boost my home reception, since I live on the outer edge of the range of our local 4G tower. Before the 4G-V, I was getting about -116db of signal on a really good day, with typical readings in the range of -120 to -125db. My data throughput was about 1Mbs typically, with 1.5 on a really good day. Total data dropouts were common. Since I got this device, my signal is a rock solid -85db. That's a difference of 1 bar to 4 bars on the phone's display. I typically get throughput measured by Speedtest.com between 6 and 8Mbs, and up to 10 in bursts on a good day. Drop outs are a thing of the past, although I notice that sometimes I'll get a data rate drop down to about 4Mbs during times the tower is likely to be getting hammered with traffic. That's not the boosters fault. My guess is that if your signal is already ultra-weak (< -130db) or fairly strong (-80 db or better) then you might not get much difference using this device. But if you are in the sweet spot, this booster is going to worth every penny you pay for it.
