From the Manufacturer

If you are looking for a top-of-the-line and affordable cell phone signal booster to boost your voice and data signal on any carrier*, including 4G, the Wilson Electronics Sleek 4G is the solution. Designed to be used by a single user in a car, the Wilson Sleek 4G helps users reduce dropped calls and increases 4G data rates in weak signal areas by amplifying your cell phone's power up to 20 times more than the phone alone. The Sleek 4G all-in-one cradle features a signal booster, built-in antenna, built-in USB charger port, and is ideal for hands-free operation when used with a headset or Bluetooth device. The Sleek 4G features simple installation that can be completed in a matter of minutes, and can be easily moved from vehicle to vehicle. Also, the Sleek 4G is a great solution for data devices such as a Mi-Fi or any other 4G data device.

It's All About Power

The primary cause of dropped calls is low signal output power from the cell phone to the cell tower, which limits the phone’s ability to communicate with the tower. A typical cell phone provides merely 200 milliwatts of output power. To address this problem, the Sleek 4G and the included magnet-mount antenna work together to increase the cell phone’s output power by up to 20 times over using just the phone alone.

Enjoy Premium Reception and Fewer Dropped Calls

Using Wilson Electronics’ patented technology, the Sleek 4G amplifies signals both to and from the cell tower, increasing the power to penetrate through natural or man-made obstructions, thus enabling you to communicate where you were unable to before. Providing you with a boosted signal, it improves your phone's reception and allows for greater coverage, even when traveling in remote areas with a weak signal.

The Sleek 4G can be installed in minutes and requires no special tools. The kit comes with everything you need for a full installation, including a magnet-mount antenna that attaches easily to the roof of your vehicle. The antenna is then connected via cable to the Sleek 4G, an all-in-one cradle signal booster. The Sleek 4G also features an optional home and office accessory kit (sold separately) that allows for use indoors. Once installed, the Sleek 4G will amplify the wireless signal of your cell phone. You'll experience fewer dropped calls, clearer call quality, and faster data rates. Most importantly, your phone's range will increase dramatically, allowing you to make calls from low-coverage areas.

Compatible with All* Cell Phone Models and Providers

The Wilson Sleek 4G is compatible with all U.S. cellular providers for voice and data services, *excluding WiMAX and iDEN/Nextel. The kit supports CDMA, TDMA, GSM, and AMPS cell phone technologies, as well as data protocols such as LTE, HSPA+, EDGE, GPRS, 1xRTT, HSDPA.

What's in the Box

Sleek 4G all-in-one cradle, outside vehicle magnet-mount antenna, cigarette-lighter power adapter, and installation guide.

Customer Reviews

We have tested it for 3g, lte, and 4g.

Also, The plastic arms that hold the phone in place are quite cheap and I've broken two of them just putting the phone in the cradle.

I was hoping to get a lot better service with this booster, I'm very disappointed.

Before you think it's not doing anything like I did: change the "number of bars" measurement to a numeral measurement. (On an iphone you dial *3001#12345#* which launches a "Field Test"...now look at where the bar graph signal strength was. It's now a negative number. Here's what it means:

-100 dbm or less = Unacceptable coverage
-99 dbm to –90 dbm = Weak Coverage
-89 dbm to – 70 dbm = Medium to High Coverage
-69 dbm or greater = Strong Coverage

At first I assembled and connected everything on the new Wilson and the bar graph signal strength indicator didn't change; nothing changed; same 1-2 bar fluctuation. Using the above test method, I have -103 (terrible) without the Wilson connected. I have -82 (good) with the Wilson connected. (To cement this info onto your Home screen forever, hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top-right side of your phone and the Home button below your screen until it turns off. When it turns back on, your signal will be numeric. (If you want to change it back, just tap on the signal.)

I use Verizon with a Droid Bionic. Added Wilson Sleek 4G with the travel package as we planned trip to State Parks in Florida Keys. Sleek took me from 3G and 2 bars to 4G and 3 bars in both Bahia Honda and Long Key State park. While others were standing around holding their phones in the air trying to get a signal, we were watching Hulu and Amazon movies. Using it is easy. Plug the cord in the electric outlet, 12v (with travel pack) or 110v. Slide phone into cradle. Done. Nothing to set, switch, or change. Instantly improved.
BTW. Didn't see a huge difference in a city. Biggest impact when we were literally in the middle of no where.

The unit does just what it says it will do. I am in a bit of dead spot at my house and I get a repeatable 20dB of signal boost using it at home, variable in the car - to be expected. Remember this and all reputable technical products obey the laws of physics. The antenna is a monopole (little stick up type) and needs a ground plane to operate the way it is designed to. That is usually the roof of your car, a big piece of metal that is connected to ground from the antenna's perspective, to reflect the signal and double its power. That can be the top of your refrigerator or a piece of sheet metal at least double the size of the antenna height (generally for this discussion). I have it on a DVD player and it works flawlessly. Don't expect miracles if you don't use a product the way it was designed, or or if you have introduced elements it can't cope with like being in an interior office in a high rise office with lots of metal.

Use it as it was designed, to boost the signal in your car or home (with the above notes) and it it is great. And please ignore any whining non technical reviews. "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than open one's mouth and remove all doubt" No, I didn't get paid to write this.

This item boosts my signal from 3G around my house to 4G. I was going to go with the more expensive "whole house" gig, but thought I might want to be mobile.
Plus this mobile set up is cheaper. I did have to play with it a bit. With my Samsung Galaxy S3 I use an app. called "OpenSignal" that has a data gauge, cell gauge, WiFi gauge, Cell tower direction indicator (you will love this app). This will boost Data only (I do believe). I would buy this item in a N.Y minute if it fails. I already feel that it has paid for itself.
Again use OpenSignal (data gauge) and move the Wilson antenna around, until you get fair-excellent reading with the data gauge.

Here is how it works...I have a 3G reading on my phone (not in the wilson cradle)...follow this procedure... I slide my phone into the "Wilson" cradle, go into "Airplane mode" on my phone (Samsung S3) then after about 30 seconds go out of "airplane mode"...BAM.....4G !! any questions, please ask.

I love this product. I used it in both vehicles and bring it in the house. No need to get the Office Kit.
It is important to put it on something metal and keep the antenna and phone separated by a couple feet; as someone else suggested I use a cookie sheet and put it in a window on the side of the house facing the closest tower.
I did spend the extra $$ and got the better antenna.
Something to take into account: If there is not a signal available, you are NOT going to have a signal!
Many places I go I will have a 4G signal with the Sleek, without I would not have 3G.

OK, I have the previous version of the Sleek 4G, the 4G-V (the Verizon-specific version).
That said, I have quantitatively measured the signal strength using Network Signal Info Pro (Android app). In my tests the Sleek 4G-V provided about 18 - 22 dBm improvement in signal strength. Wilson advertises "23 dBm" max, so that's pretty close.
My test:
- Put phone in Sleek cradle but don't power on the Sleek.
- Measure signal strength using Network Signal Info Pro App.
- Power up Sleek.
- Measure signal strength using Network Signal Info Pro App.
- Subtract.

I don't know why some people can't make it work properly. The guy who complained about its performance in a building needs to read the product description more closely, since the product is clearly labeled for use in a "vehicle".

I travel, by car, in low-signal areas all across the US West, and the Sleek 4G has been a life-saver -- almost literally.
