Works well, but the jury is still out,

This review is from: Wilson Magnetic Mount Little Wil CB Radio Antenna
I bought the midland 75-822 hand held cb before Xmas. I have owned quite a few cb, frs and high end motorolla radios over the years for cross country road trips, hiking and ski trips. After buying the midland, I realized the reviews were correct and I needed a external antenna to get any meaningful reception out of the midland hand held. I read the reviews for the lil Wilson and decided to buy two of them. Bang! My reception went from minimal with the whip antenna to 5-10 miles with the lil wil in my car. I then went to radio shack and bought a 110 volt to 12 volt converter ($30) so I could use the radio in my home. I now have my midland hand held hooked into my lil WIL antenna, powered by the 110-12 volt converter which is sitting on my granite kitchen counter in my home. Reception not nearly as good as mounted on my car, but still ok all things considered. I turn on the NOAA weather channel and just listen in between commercials on msnbc. So far, so good. I will update this review as I utilize the midland and lil will. I also ordered the cobra telescoping hand held antenna tonite. I will update this review after I have had a chance to test that unit out.
