"Are you ready for some football?",
By
This review is from: Wilson Official NFL Leather Game Football (1993-2005) (Misc.)
This is the real deal. The genuine article. The very same football that is used in NFL games. Enjoy the smell and feel of real leather. You may have to condition the skin of the ball, by wetting it, in order to achieve a better grip as the skin is fairly slick right out of the box. Also, the instructions on the ball say to inflate at 10-12 pounds, but if you do this you'd better have the large hands of a Manning or McNair in order to get a grip, because it'll be as hard as a rock. For tossing the pigskin with friends I suggest inflating only to about 8-10 pounds so that your fingers can put a decent indent on the skin and give you better control.

A Father and Son Reunion,
This review is from: Wilson Official NFL Leather Game Football (1993-2005) (Misc.)
I bought this football as a last ditch effort to bond with my son. He's 13 and prefers listening to NIN and Cradle of Filth records and spending hours in front of the mirror teasing his dyed black hair and painting his fingernails. Ya know, I'm all about supporting my child's individuality and need to try on some different identities but what's wrong with wanting to be, oh I don't know, A FOOTBALL PLAYER???
So, I cajoled him into going out in the backyard and playing catch with his old pops. He had no problems with this ball, throwing perfect spiral after perfect spiral. He caught almost every pass I threw him. I had a smile the size of a Texas barbecue on me - my son the jock. Visions of my lad throwing hail mary's and winning game after game for his school sprinted through my head. When it all was over I gave him a hug and said "you're another Dan Marino, dude" He looked at me and replied "Dad, you can't live your unresolved teenage athletic fantasies through me, or relive them as the case may be, although mom says you never played sports in school as grandpa was always unemployed and drunk so you had to adopt the role of in loco parentis and work long hours as a dishwasher at the Surf N Turf. Which is sad really and may explain why Mom left you over your workaholism. But I just can't make those years up for you dad and I won't, so please never ask me to do this again and please let me be who I want to be." I just stared at him. I was stunned. Then I smiled and gave him a soft clap on the shoulder and said "Be who you want to be son. There is no greater gift a son can give his father than that." Then he started walking towards the house and I ran full speed and blind sided him with a brutal tackle and broke his collarbone but damn, that kid can take a hit.
