Before use, make sure the ball is properly inflated and not over inflated. Wipe the football down with a damp towel to remove the slick newness of the ball. Then you will recognize the quality tackiness of this composite leather.

I thought this football (if good) would get 4 stars because it has black laces. After receiving it and using it, I think the black laces look better on this ball because of it's shade/color. It's extremely nice looking, and after getting used to it with about 100 passes throwing an even spiral became easier. It's flight characteristics are excellent. It flies at a consistent rate of speed (depending on your throw of course) and with a very good toss you'll imagine NFL films highlights of Joe Montana spiraling touchdowns to Jerry Rice...

Would I prefer a ball with white laces that looks more like "The Duke", like the Wilson NFL Replica composite version? In terms of aesthetics, yes probably, but not for double the cost. This ball looks great, feels great to catch, easy to grip, kicks well, it is certainly game-worthy. If this ball is used on asphalt/pavement surfaces frequently, it will take a beating. I think it will be durable, but much happier and will live longer if only used on grass.

I prefer and recommend Wilson footballs. For footballs, they are king. I do not recommend composite Nike Footballs. I've owned and used several Nike footballs, leather and composite. Their basketballs can be nice, but their footballs are not. Like most Nike products, it looks nice, it says something like "spiral tech" to make you think it will make you look great, but they don't seem to be crafted with the same Wilson feel and precision. I have not found any Nike composite football that is game-worthy.

I bought me this football for my husband and he says it is by far the best football he's ever owned. He plays QB in a couple Flag Football leagues and all his teammates comment on how they like catching this football because of the grip. If you are looking for a football that has grip and easy to throw a perfect spiral this football is for you.

In a 40 team adult flag football league, we have the best QB. He uses this ball, so I tried it out too. It's great for indoor football. I have $60, and 100$ footballs, but I'm using this for indoor. When it comes to outdoor, it's likely to get roughed up more and I'll use a different ball, but I love this one.

I've only had this ball a week, but very happy with it. (and I have about 6 footballs).

I never realized how many different types of footballs are made. Real leather, composite or plastic, NFL, collegiate, Canadienne, Youth size. Too much stuff to choose from. I wanted a no frills football to bring to cookouts, beach or park to throw around. I chose the Wilson F1845 NFL Ultimate Composite for the size and I like the way it looked.

After an entire summer of use, the ball is in great condition considering the abuse. Very few scuff marks besides the normal ones from scraping against concrete, trees, and grass. Stitching is completely unbroken, and the corners (I don't know what you call the ends) have tiny bits of impact wear. There is one ding about 1/2 cm from hitting the edge of a metal pipe. The dimples are slightly worn in a few areas and show some discoloration which I assume is from the concrete. The laces are in perfect shape. Gold letter outlines show normal wear and scratches. Even the barcode is intact. and I've only had to refill it once since May. (It's September now)

It's even been used for diving catches in the pool and still feels tacky after four months of use. It can use a little bit of air but still throwable. Based off of the usage from this past summer, I don't see myself buying another football for a few years. That of course is assuming it won't be punctured.

If your football is in perfect shape after one season of use, you're not using it enough...

This is a great ball that is VERY easy to get a spiral on. I've QBed in a few flag football leagues and I've always used this ball.

The ball is a good size for a normal sized adult and very tacky.

Love this ball! The tacky surface almost sticks to your hand while catching and allows for those of us with smaller hands to get a good grip to throw. I wouldn't use on cement surface as I think the bouncing on a hard surface may wear away the tackiness but it is great for grass and dirt.

I've been looking for a good, regular-sized football that is of good quality and that has good grip so I can throw spirals with. This football is absolutely great for me. When I received it today, it was a little sticky but I just wet a wash cloth that I had and rung it out then I wiped the football down and the stickyness is gone but the grip is just absolutely amazing for me (with clean hands). I played football in high school as a wide receiver and let me tell you that this ball makes catching and everything just a lot easier. It's good quality, it's not cheap. It's nice and I think good for the price too. Only bad thing I have to say about it, is that it looks like some thread is coming out of the laces or whatever you call them but I'll just leave it alone until it decides to fall off by itself. The amount of air that was already in the ball when it arrived is perfect, I didn't have to pump it up or anything. I took some pictures of me holding it and with it resting on my kicking tee, so go look at those if you want and you can get an idea just how good of quality the ball is. I say 5 stars! I LOVE this football.
