I use this for umpiring baseball of course, and have used the gamout of all sorts of different chest protectors.
This is one of the best protectors I have ever worn/owned.
This is MUCH better than the West Vest Platinum for several reasons.

1. It won't cut your head/ears off trying to take it off.
2. The "belly" straps are held in place on the sides so you don't need someone else to help you put it on.
3. It doesn't cut into your throat like the Platinum.
4. It just feels better and more thought out than the Platinum.
5. It's black, which looks sharp and doesn't show sweat stains/dirt as easily as the Platinum which is grey and shows EVERYTHING.
A friend of mine has the platinum, it has 2 seasons on it and it looks disgusting.
6. Feels and looks more baseball than its Platinum sibling, Platinum looks sort of like a football protector more than anything else.

This is a great chest protector, and is the only protector I would buy!!!! I bought it to replace my original West Vest after 500+ games. Man the improvements from the original are amazing!
