Editorial Reviews

The Fantastic All-Electric Music Movie is one of the holy grails of video collecting the Buyer for out-of-print-video found exactly two copies of this between 1998 and 2004, and one of those was not viewable due to playback issues! Most video collectors will end their collecting efforts having never seen an original print for sale. These animated films were all directed and produced by John Wilson. The song selections have a heavy emphasis on Sonny and Cher. The impressive song list in order of presentation is: Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell, Angie Baby by Helen Reddy, Both Sides Now (Clouds) by Joni Mitchell (early computerized animation), Bad Bad Leroy Brown by Jim Croce, One Tin Soldier by Coven (From The Film "Billy Jack"), Dark Lady by Cher, Sweet Gypsy Rose We think this is a solo by Sonny Bono (but it could be Tony Orlando) the video makes obvious references to Sonny and Cher, The Candy Man by Sonny and Cher, A Cowboys Work is Never Done by Sonny and Cher, Melanie's Brand New Key sung by Cher, Black and White sung by Sonny and Cher, Demon Alchol Music by Ray Davies sung by W. Capenter, Stevie Wonder's People...we believe this is also sung by Sonny and Cher, but the credits don't make that clear, Randy Newman's You and Me Babe sung by Sonny and Cher, Reachin' by Bob Moline, Congo Valiente by Stan Kenton & Finally, as if the above wasn't challenging enough ambitious director John Wilson does a nice job animating a portion of Stravinky's ballet Petroushka. Not rated, 1985; 73 min.
