I usually like Wilton products, I really do. So when I finally decided let's upgrade from a fork to a real pastry blender, I found this one. Big mistake. Only two reasons why, but big enough for me to dislike this item immensely.
Issue one - the tines are wire, not blades. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but you want to be cutting through the butter, shortening, etc. Dull wire just squashes the fats.
Issue two - tines too close together. OK, if these were blades maybe it would be OK. But having so little clearance between them and being dull, well, using a plain old fork works a lot better than this thing.
My suggestion, purchase any pastry blender with blades and not wires and you will save lots of time and frustration.
