I am very new to baking and decorating and this was kind of idiot proof. I made super cute cupcakes for my son's Halloween Party at school.

"12 piece" refers to four tips and eight bags. I am giving this low rating because the bags are so small, it's difficult to get frosting in them. I'd spend my money on a better set.

I bought this set for general cupcake and dessert decorating. I used it to frost cupcakes I was taking to a picnic, and they looked AMAZING! Several people thought they were from a professional bakery. I've never used pastry bags before, but it was so easy, even with a thick peanut butter frosting. I highly recommend this set, especially for the price.

This kit is great for beginners! Word of advice...visit the wilton website...it gives you step by step instructions on how to use all their products (including the tips in this kit!) as well as giving GREAT recipes and ideas. Love wilton products, and love that they have such an awesome website!

The cupcake decor kit is a perfect basic kit not only good for cupcakes but other items as well.

I reviewed several kits to get the best product for a beginner cupcake decorator who wanted to produce something pretty, but not go too crazy. I really liked the tips that this came with because I was able to create simple, pretty cupcakes on top and also fill them with raspberry filling. I would have liked more bags included in this kit - but the ones it came with were a good medium size and made of a thick plastic that held up through my learning how to squeeze them! Wilton is a good brand and their website is very helpful in learning how to decorate.

I bought this kit specifically for the 1M tip and the bags, and that is pretty much the only parts of this kit I have utilized. I might be able to make better use of the other tips at some point, but the 1M tip is currently my favorite. I would have liked if this kit if it gave some more instruction on the other tips, so maybe if I looked that up myself I would get some more use out of the rest of this kit. But the 1M tip -- awesome!

the tips work great i use ziplock bags and cut the ends off and out the tips inside and start decorating or filling. so cheap so easy and so homemade.

Wilton's 12 Piece Cupcake Decorating Set is a great starting point for people who want to decorate cakes or cupcakes. I come with Star tips 1M and 22, round tip 12 and bismarck tip 230. I used the bismarck tip 230 to fill cupcakes with filling and the 1M for decorating. However, this kit does not come with couplers. So you might want to purchase those as well. It's fine if you don't have them, especially if you are starting out, but if you want to be adventurous then try them out.

I used my Wilton Cupcake Decorating Set to make French Macarons. It was wonderful. I plan to try filling cupcakes next.
