This pan is great. The only flaw is it needs a heating core to cook thouroughly and you need to use a firm cake recipe. Neither of which is mentioned on the instructions.

I bought this pan to make a car cake for my son's second birthday. The instructions were useful in ensuring that the cake was cooked properly (be sure to check with a knife in the center of the cake to confirm that it is cooked through) and for removing it undamaged (lots of shortening and flour). However, the shape was just a generalization. I could have built a better car-shaped cake using a rectangular and square pan. The whole reason for purchasing this pan was to get the outlines of the headlights and other details on the cake and those things did not come through.

Bottom line: save your money, buy a rectangle and a square shaped cake pan and you can use both multiple times.

bought this pan to make a monster truck cake for my 6 year old's birthday. I received earlier than expected. I used the directions from [...] and my son chose the colours. It turned out great!! Just remember to grease the pan very well for the cake to come out smoothly.

Fun, simple...just be sure to lube the cake real well and use flour to powder it inside. Check the middle to make sure the center is well cooked. It was fun for my son's first birthday. I made mention to my husband that I'll make the same cake for his birthday, and his eyes lit up and he got a smile on his face...whattayaknow???

I used this cake pan to make a Wiggles cake for my 3 year old son. It worked perfectly! I would only caution people who use this cake pan to follow the directions enclosed and stabilize it in your oven. It tipped over on me and I had a huge mess the first time I tried it.

I bought this to make a birthday cake for my daughter. It's a good quality, lightweight pan that came with an instruction book. The book contained tips for baking the cake properly, the classic recipe for Wilton's buttercream icing, along with tips and hints for decorating the cake. It was a big helper. Makes a very nice car cake.

This is a very versatile pan. I got it at a great price. It is also hard to find since Wilton has discontinued it. I used it to make my son a monster truck cake for his birthday, and I'm sure we'll use it again. There are many cake designs using this pan easily found on the Wilton website.

It took a couple of times to get it right but it turned out rich and moset for his birth day. He loved the car cake.

It wasn't flimsy at all like I expected. It was easy to use, this being my first cake like this. You actually need about a box and a half to a quarter to make it rise all the way. There are instructions but I didn't read them too thoroughly. The pan sits level in the oven no problem but if you don't know how to frost a cake this is a hard one. Mine looked a little funny. I used cookies for the wheels and my son loved it. I didn't take pictures cus I clearly should have had someone frost it for me.

We used this cake pan to make a monster truck Mater "Tormater" cake for my son's 3rd birthday. It turned out great! The pan was really easy to work with. The cake came out perfect and we were able to cut it to look like a tow truck before decorating it without a problem. I love that we will be able to use the pan again to create a completely different cake. I was a little nervous about how hard it would be to turn this car into a truck but it was much easier than expected. Great pan!
