I wrote a review for a Bundt pan here on Amazon, and expressed my grief over getting the cake out without it tearing. Some dear lady wrote to me and told me about this Wilton Cake Release. Oh golly! Is this stuff ever the cat's meow! I've never ever used such a great product that makes life tons simpler in cake baking! All the Bundt cakes I make come out without ANY trouble whatsoever with this stuff - it's just fabulous! It doesn't contain silicone either, with is something that most of the spray-on products contain. This guy both lubricates and flours your pan in the same step so it's a great time saver, AND it eliminates those flour "gobs" you can get on your cake when using flour.

How to use: You use this product by squeezing a small amount onto your pan, then taking a pastry or basting brush and moving it around all over the pan. It doesn't take very much either so this bottle will last quite awhile, depending on how much baking you do a week. It doesn't add any flavor to your cakes either - you just get a perfectly formed cake every time. Grab this stuff - you'll be thanking me as much as I'm thanking that dear lady who told me about it. Highly, highly, highly recommend!

While I agree this product does what is intended making your own is very simple. Mix equal parts of flour, veg oil and shortening with a hand mixer until smooth. Store in an airtight container in a cool place.

I think this product is great and I'm in the process of buying yet another bottle of it. It used to come in a tub and was a little messier but the bottle is a great way to use it.
I use it for greasing my bread pans and cake pans as well as muffin tins. I squirt a little into the pan and then I use a silicone brush to brush it on and there no need to use any flour. Just this one product and cakes and breads pop out of their pan perfectly.

This stuff works so much better than the baking spray (with oil and flour) that you buy at the store. Cakes come out so easily using this and so much easier (and less of a mess) than oiling and flouring your pans. Love it!

This does exactly what it says it will. I never have to grease and flour a pan any more…a small amount of this and spread it with a pastry brush, and nothing sticks (and I don't have flour I my finished cake). I will never be without a bottle again.

I like to bake, but I would by no means label myself a "pro" or even "enthusiast" - I have friends that spend hundreds of dollars on the best baking pans, icing tips, candy flavorings, etc., and I'm the type that considers any baking project that requires more than a bowl, spoon, pan, and an oven to be too much effort for me. However, I'm also the type that gets irritated when I spend all kinds of time greasing & flouring a pan, only to have chunks of cake still stuck to it when I go to invert my cake onto a plate. Nothing like a cake with chunks missing from it to let people know "Hey! I clearly have no idea what I'm doing!" A coworker recommended this after witnessing one of my cake snafus at an office pitch-in - said it makes cakes "slide right out of the pan without so much as a crumb missing". I was skeptical, but I was willing to try just about anything so I ordered a bottle.

My coworker knew what she was talking about - this stuff is pure magic. Squirt a small amount in the pan, spread it around evenly with a pastry brush, and then add your batter; when the cake is done (and has cooled a bit), this stuff does all the work - I didn't even have to bang on the pan to get the cake to release. The cake easily slid out without any effort and looked pristine. The positives? It actually works; it doesn't alter the flavor, texture, or appearance of your cakes; and a little of it goes a long way - this bottle will last you quite awhile. The negatives? You do really need a pastry brush in order to ensure it gets distributed evenly through the pan, and sometimes the tip of the bottle got clogged and I had to shake it vigorously to release the blockage and get the product flowing again. But overall, I highly recommend it - really makes me feel like I've got my act together as a baker!
