Wilton long loaf pan,

I have been using this long loaf pan for many years. It not only holds a full recipe of angel food cake, which can easily be sliced for serving, rather than the traditional round pan product, but other cakes as well. But my main reason for adding additional pans, was to accommodate my recipes for whole grain sourdough, multigrain breads. The loaves are very large and heavy and so convenient, since they can be slice uniformly. This is fantastic for family sharing, allowing some slices to be stored in the frig or freezer for later use in smaller family units. I have many professional pans, having been in an experimental kitchen of a major packaged frozen food company in my youth, and have been developing recipes for over 50 years at home since, cooking three meals a day for a family of seven, and additional generations. The basic Wilton pans stand the test of time, the original one that I had is looking just as good as the two newer ones. Amazon needs to take care when shipping multiple units, though. They stack conveniently, but are easily jammed so tightly together, that they cannot be separated.

can't get the cake out of the pan,

I've baked "scratch" angel food cakes in this long loaf pan several times and have yet to be successful getting the cake out of the pan without tearing it in half. The issue is that I can't get the cake unstuck from the bottom of the pan. I've tried parchment paper on only the bottom (not the sides) and the cake just sinks in as the parchment doesn't hold the cake to the pan when inverted. I've asked on the Wilton forum and the main answer was: "now you know why the tube pan comes in two parts. A friend of mine said she was given an "old" tube pan which is much heavier. She threw away this one.It does bake nice and even and would be great for anything but angel food cake.

Angel Loaf Pan by Wilton,

I love this pan. I've made my Christmas fruit bread in it, and have just taken an angel food cake out of the oven. I have purchased 4 of these, 3 for gifts. Now, if you would offer a lovely cut glass tray to put such an interestingly shaped angel food cake on, I would buy that, too! The only thing I have that it fits on is an ugly cookie sheet!

better than the traditional angel food cake pan,

I bought this for my sister because she kept borrowing mine. Our mother has one too. The whole family loves angel food cake, we serve it with strawberries. It is so easy to get the cake out of this shape vs the traditional round pan with the hole in the middle. We line the bottom with parchment paper and it just falls out. One more trick, use your electric knife to cut perfect pieces.

Would Not Recommend,

I do a lot of baking especially of bread, love it !!! I finally decided to take the plunge and purchase some new pans. I purchased this Wilton (and some others) which I had some big hopes for as I was looking for a large loaf pan. This turned up on the Friday and Saturday morning I was baking. I was extremely frustrated to see that no matter how I baked with this the bread would stick, even when using vegetable oil to coat the dough and the pan. Another disadvantage I found is that there is no lid (not even available separately) and due to the feet and the exterior coating does not do well with cling film which again is a pain when baking fresh bread. Therefore due to the above issues I cannot recommend this pan to others. To be honest it didn't even clean up that well. On the contrary the other pans I bought from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Amco-Food-Service-Pullman-Pan/dp/B001888PKA/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3MUSA51PKJVVS&colid=17RWQJLRLZEW1) from Amco are incredible. Great even cooking, good coating and most importantly no sticking. They also have a lid available. I purchased 2 of the Amco and as they did such a phenomenal job I just ordered another 2. If like me you do a lot of baking, especially of bread then I would highly recommend the Amco pans. Great price too.

Initially, I was very disappointed when I received this product; however, I now have had this baking pan for over 2 months and it has not rusted and my desserts have cooked very well in it. Its light weight can easily mislead you to believe that it will cause some type of kitchen catastrophe. Quite to the contrary, my desserts cooked very evenly, and I now am glad to have purchased the product. Its unusual dimensions were a necessity for my needs, and it was extremely challenging to find its size in other markets for such an affordable cost. I would recommend future purchases from the seller--particularly this product--that I can personally attest to its quality baking. Don't let the light weight fool you!

I already owned one of these pans but wanted another for myself and one for my daughter. It makes a full size loaf of bread and is easy to clean. I love it!
