Since the pans come in four different sizes, a baking and serving chart on the packaging helps determine the appropriate baking time and quantity of batter required for each pan, as well as the amount of batter and icing needed overall. Baking hints, decorating ideas, and other instructions are included on the packaging as well. The 2-inch-deep pans, deeper than standard cake pans, ensure cake sides are straight and smooth for attractive icing. The medium-weight aluminum pans guarantee a thin, evenly browned crust perfect for icing. Since the pans are nonstick, flouring and/or parchment paper is necessary. --Emily Wolf
