This is a large, sturdy, stainless steel cake lifter that you will be able to use on any standard round, square, or bundt cake. I like this design better than the ones with a handle as this one will provide better handling while lessening the chances of the cake breaking apart or sliding. I will likely also use it for scooping up hot cookies even although I already have a cookie lifter since this is larger. I expect it will last a very long time since it is a high quality item.

The item itself is great except that the dimensions listed are misleading.
It says "Product Dimensions: 11.6 x 9.4 x 1.4 inches" so I THOUGHT that would be the size of the product, NOT the size of the packaging! This cake lifter is 8" x 8" not including the handle.
Aside from this, it is a great "little" cake lifter.

I was a tad skeptical when I first saw this item. Out if the box it is a little on the small side, not looking like it could hold a full size cake. Well it sure changed my mind quickly! It easily picked up and moved a full 9" two layer fully frosted and decorated cake. Also, with a little help from a large spatula, it moved a quarter sheet cake. This is a kitchen must have. Use to lift frozen pizza into and out of oven. It is also a great cake layer turner and works wonders when making sugar cookies. You can make large cookies and get them on the cookie sheet in one piece. I keep finding more uses for this little gaget. Don't know how I did without it!

I just received this.. I made calzones and felt like a professional when I lifted the calzone up without struggling and placed it on the plate in one piece. Can't wait to lift a cake with it. It will also be great when slicing and dicing vegetables. Can pick them up all at once now.

This cake lifter is great. I like that it does not feel flimsy at all, I also like that the handle is rubber, as it makes me less worried that my hand will slip. What I don't like is that some of my more moist cakes have a tendency to stick to it. Otherwise, this is an awesome tool.

I put off getting this for a while, thinking that it was just an extra thing to have to squeeze into my kitchen drawer. But it's been great when using my (mini) convection oven/toaster, which I use most when cooking for just two. No mess, no more burnt fingers & no more balancing act when trying to remove food from my oven. This is very well made. The handle is easy to grasp & the lifter is just the right weight & size. I'm using it more & more, as I get into toasting sandwiches that were a big hassle before. Makes it super easy to insert the food into the oven without straining to get the wire rack out far enough. Now I see it as a necessity that I didn't know existed, until I found it here at Amazon.

I haven't used this cake lifter for its designed purpose yet, but it's great for moving pizza on and off it's baking pan, and cut vegetables from the cutting board to cooking pan. Goes right into the dishwasher for clean-up.

I wasn't looking for this, but decided I needed it while browsing Amazon as there's one cake, a cherry chocolate cake, that, to fill with whipped cream, i slice horizontally, across the middle. To lift the top off to fill, i used to use 2 spatulas, one under each side, which rarely worked well. This cake and cookie lifter worked perfectly because it gave complete support to the middle of the cake top, which spatulas could not. I usually only make this cake a few times a year, but i started using this tool as a large bench scrape to lift chopped/sliced vegetables, etc, into pots or pans. This I do almost daily. This tool is very useful to me as a bench scrape. It would work better as a bench scrape if it had raised sides, but then i couldn't use it as a cake lifter. C'est la vie! I would buy it again.

This cake lifter is a handy little product. I was able to easily lift a 14" square layer with the help of this tool. I'm glad to have it.
