I made two of these trees, one for my family and one for my friend. The kit is basically 10 star-shaped cookie cutters, ranging in size from almost 10" across down to 1". You cut two of each size out, and bake, cool, frost and assemble.

Both trees were beautiful, and the included dough recipes were delicious. The directions say you need a double recipe to have enough dough to make one tree. I disagree, I made them with only one recipe each. In fact, I had enough dough leftover to make about a dozen small cookies from each recipe! Handy when you have little ones dying to eat some cookies...

My friend said it was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen (she's very kind), and said it was going to be the centerpiece for her Christmas table.

I can see using the star cutters for occasions other than Christmas, too. Like star-shaped cookies for a birthday cake, or making star placecards for birthday parties to double as favors.

Nothing high tech here. Just good ol fashioned cookie cutters sized so that you can stack the cookies to make a Christmas tree. Clear, concise directions; a variety of recipes for various types of trees; suggestions for decorating. Wish I'd had these years ago.

I fell in love with this product about 11 years ago. I was 17 and my boyfreind's mother was in the process of stacking the cookies to make the tree. She now has been my mother-n-law for 10 years and we make the cookie tree at Christmas every year. This year I finally bought my own cookie cutter set to make the playful tree whenever we want. What a fun way to start a family tradition. Fun for adults and kids alike.
