This is a great pan for cheesecakes that need to be cooked inside of pan of water (for example, Craig Clairborne's cheesecake recipe). It is heavy duty aluminum with a solid rim. It has worked well for me, and I anticipate that it will last a long time.

This is an excellent cake pan. I bought my first Wilton pans 2 years ago when baking cakes for my wedding, and my only regret was that I didn't purchase Wilton pans years ago. They are durable, bake evenly, and retain their shape despite my less than tender care in storage. I find the 8 & 10 inch pans the most useful, 8" for family cakes, 10" for bigger parties. You may want to use some parchment paper to line the bottom to ensure an easy release of your cake. And I have now purchased 2 of each size, so that I can bake 2 same sized layers concurrently.

Wilton is usually a great product, but some of their pans are thinner than the rest, and this is one of them. We have some with a straight edge, and this is slightly curved. If this is a new disign, they used less metal, or not as good quality metal.. something's different. I bake 2 8" at the same time, one with this pan, one with my older version, and this pan turns the cakes brown on the bottom so much faster. Not really happy. We returned it.

I will buy this type again when I need cake pans. They are durable, light-colored (for even heat distribution) and release the cake easily. Nice product.

This is nice heavy weight and quality pan. My primary reason to purchase is to use it as a liner for a "10 inch cast iron dutch oven...

I purchased this as an accessory for my pressure cooker. I used to use a round glass dish, but glass is a poor conductor of heat and using it required adding additional cooking time to recipes. I mainly use this pan to cook rice in my pressure cooker. Rather than place the rice directly in the pressure cooker, I place the rice and water in the pan. The pan is then placed on top of a trivet inside the pressure cooker which has a 1/2 of cup of water in it, and the rice is cooked at high pressure for 4 minutes with pressure being released naturally. This method produces perfect fluffy rice. I picked this tip up in Miss Vickie's Big Book of Pressure Cooker Recipes. I also use the pan in the pressure cooker to poach chicken and fish in a variety of flavorful poaching liquids.

The pan has a rolled edge which makes the pan easier to handle. One review I read mentioned that this pan is thinner than an older version of the pan that has a straight edge. I noticed this with another line of cookware that I own, and when I contacted the manufacturer, I learned that the base and sides of the pan were spun thinner to accommodate the additional metal provided with the rolled edge. The thinner pans meant I had to make an adjustment in temperature and cooking time.

This product is exactly what I thought I was getting. It arrived new in package and very timely.
